ASUS motherboard wont post unless "DRAM Current Capability" is higher than 100%

Thread Starter
Hello,

I have Asus x99 Strix mb and until recently it was working perfect.
One day my PC could not boot, it stopped just after post/before system boot with code B1.
I have G.Skill 32GB 3200 CL14 4x8 kit with XMP enabled.
I was trying different things in bios and it was booting when I lowered ram frequency to 3000 or when I set DRAM Current Capability to 110%/120%.

Is this a valid fix? I could not find anything on "DRAM Current Capability" option so anyone know what it does?

I also noticed that my ram is running at 1.33 and not on 1.35 like it should from XMP profile but I could not find how to set manual ram voltage in asus bios. There is just grayed out "auto" that I cant click.

Thanks

Try removing the RAM and re-seating it. That worked for me one time when my friends computer stopped booting. One of the pins must have lost connection, perhaps due to oxidation over years, but I'm not sure. Anyway, re-seating the RAM solved his issue. Not sure it will work for you, but it is worth a try.

I have an Asus X99 Deluxe II, and in the bios menu I set it to full manual mode. That allows me to play with the voltage supplied to the RAM. I have it set to 1.32V. Also, based on a recommendation I received here on the forum, I set my system agent voltage to 1.05 V and the CPU VCCIO to 1.1 V. With these settings I am stable with the RAM clocked at 3200 MHz. Maybe these system agent and CPU VCCIO settings will help if re-seating the memory doesn't fix the problem.
