[Scratch] Two Deus Ex Inspired Case Build

As a lot of people including myself grew up with futuristic games such as Deus Ex, System Shock and some fantastic films revolving around technology far superior to what we have, the pc is still hidden away somewhere in the background and some of those futuristic designs are shown in some of the popular cases being made by manufacturers. For example the gr6/ gr8 and steam machines and probably the closest we have to these futuristic small form factor powerful machines capable of running VR technology and beyond.

My Project is to build two machines based on the Deus Ex franchise and the modern colour schemes the games have taken over the last few years (Gold and Black)
MY aim is to focus on the case and not the hardware to run inside but with the colour scheme in mind I will be taking a look at some of the gold edition hardware ASUS has released a while back. I work for a graphic printing company and have 2 years experience working on large format printers and CNC machines and I hope to make full use of these machines to create a case that stands out. I don't plan on rushing this so I may be light on updates for a while but any feedback on how I would approach this would be great.

Here are a few pictures of my initial design that I aim for:

My inspiration so far:

So the idea is to build a frame in which I will build Triangular wings and orange cathode tubes to build a cyber punk style case. I want to expose all the wires as opposed to hiding them by making them a feature.

I have a long way to go with planning this but in the mean time I have another project, Something a bit smaller to play with:

This is one of the PC designs from the new Deus Ex mankind Divided. Its a slim pc case that looks as if it would be a great media Hub Placed next to a tv. The minimalist design gave me an idea to build this as a test before I get stuck in to the main project but also allows me to explore techniques. I love the look of those brushed aluminium sides and the simplistic curved front that creates an infinite illusion from the front. I plan to build this with some cheap internals just to help with the inspiration and see how it turns out.

I Started with a cheap PSU. The main component to power our PC's and normally the most basic design. What is there that we can actually do with a box?

First I got the thinnest PSU I could find, an old 250w FSP (I was amazed this was listed as High End on Overclockers) It shows its age.

Stripped it down to reveal the lovely internals and that glue!

Next Stage is NO MORE GREY

A few coats of Krylon Matt Black and some vinyl sides. (Check the shoulders of Jensen's Coat in Human Revolution)

Got to Give the fan some love too:

A few Hours work later and the PSU is back up and running with a new look.

Anyway. Il keep this updated on both builds and will be back soon.
