Most likely not a troll, just someone who succeeded in a project but is slightly confused. His next question may be if somebody knows how to run a business because that explanation would be very helpful as well
I'm all in favor of progression, but when we get into a conversation or situation about a mysterious product which would eventually end in the hands of a consumer and be opened as well as reverse engineered, then there is no point in riding a magical double tailed unicorn. If he is asking multiple people for help then there is chance of error due to the fact he does not understand all the aspects allowing someone to take advantage of him or point him in the wrong way.
I wouldn't say troll but I would say maybe just young. Hard to just go make a company based around an 8khz mouse which may offers the same additional performance as a 100khz mouse?
For all we know this guy is selling the idea to Logitech right now
