My Rig
Case: Corsair Vengeance Series C70
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme4 LGA 1150 Intel Z87
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell Quad-Core 3.5 GHz LGA 1150
CPU: Cooler:CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i
PSU: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650 650W
GPU: (2xSLI) EVGA G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 770 DUAL SuperClocked 4GB
Monitor: (3x) Acer G7 G237HLbi Black 23"

I have been gaming on GTX770 SLI for some time now and I think it's time for a slight upgrade. While the performance is okay there are too many problems with SLI and I loved the experience of surround gaming but I want to give it up now.

I was looking at some things. I will upgrade the PSU to something fully modular which is not an issue. My problem is I'm not sure if I want to go GTX 1060 or 1070. For now the GTX1080 is out of the question, I've decided to do other RL things with that money. I also want to upgrade to 1440p.

My question is for the price/performance is it worth it to go GTX1060($250-300) or 1070($400-475) for a single 27" 1440p monitor. Also thinking of dropping the H100i for something like a Noctua.

I've done some searching and the 4770k is still good, I will just OC it now so I won't be upgrading this for now.

Thoughts/ opinions?

IMO I would go with the single most powerful GPU you can afford right now, the 1070 is a fair bit quicker than the 1060 and the extra 2GB of VRAM would definitely help you in future titles especially at 1440p.
I'm currently running a GTX 980 which is slightly faster than a 1060 and if GPU prices weren't so absurd here in Australia I would definitely pay the extra $150 or so for the 1070 over the 1060.
EDIT: Tom's Hardware's 1060 review show the 1070 having a 20fps advantage over the 1060

Edit: I think I'll be getting the 1070 non hybrid to make way for water cooling down the road.
