Oh for God sake, any phone with a lithium ion battery is a minute risk for fire; its just the nature of this volatile battery technology. Unfortunately, now with the recall fiasco with the note 7, ANY replacement phones that catch fire for any reason will cause disproportionate panic and media scrutiny, likely leading to the demise of what is an amazing smart phone. There are few phones that don't experience at least one battery failure resulting in fire but the Note 7 is now being singled out as singularly "dangerous" in the media which is absolutely unfair to both Samsung and us consumers...

How is there not a .gif of a soldier throwing a terrifying grenade and then it turns out to be a Note 7?

There are a million un-funny gifs and memes about the Note 7, just search...

Yikes. Anyone have any idea what the root cause is? Faulty batteries from a supplier? Electronics design?

I suspect it's an undersized and poor quality battery.

If you're familiar with Lithium Ion batteries in any high discharge applications you'll know of a few horror stories.

If Samsung wants to make a Note powered by Eneloops that's find by me. I try to use NiMH batteries as much as possible.

Samsung solid state drives aren't junk.

Where is the fix for my original 840?

eek.gif Seriously???? Are you kidding me? Your speaking to a former evo owner. If your ssd is actually slower than an hdd, yea they are junk. Samsung made that go away. However the drives in question, even with the new firmware slowed way down after only aftre few months of use. Most people I know ended up with an rma.
I would never buy anything with the samsung name on it. Already been burned too many times.

I totally agree. Sadly the cheapest ECC RAM I can find is Samsung (second hand so Samsung aren't getting the money).
