Problem overclocking 965BE on GA-970A-UD3 - Page 2

I'm still voting on getting rid of that 3rd mismatched stick and just run 8GB. Stop making it more difficult for yourself!

Okay. So Phenoms are set up to use 2 sticks and having troubles even with 2 x 2x2gb or 2 x 2x4GB?

Have you taken out your 3rd mismatched RAM stick yet just to merely confirm that it is infact the issue? There's no point trying to do any further troubleshooting until you take out that RAM stick, it literally takes a few minutes.

Tried 10 minutes ago. Set 3,8GHz clock + 1,45V. Prime95 for 3 minutes and bang. BSOD.

I've taken out the Ballistix 1600 RAM. So i have now 2x4GB of Kingston 1333. Still BSOD.

I have that mobo, you have to populate slots 2 and 4 first.
For mixed RAM configurations, use Unganged mode in RAM settings, it will help a lot.
On my fx-6300, i can't overclock CPUNB by multi, only FSB or else it BSODs.
LLC has only 'Regular' and 'Extreme'.
This is Gigabyte, press Ctrl+F1 to display hidden options and disable Spread Spectrum.

Isn't 1.45V@3.8 a bit ambitious? Try 1.48-1.5 maybe?

Cant open hidden options. Is it different keyboard shortcut?

I've got problems with ram sticks. So: I can't run my computer (the screen is black) what I have them in 2 and 4th slot. I can't even use 4th slot I think. Having trouble when having it like this: Kingston (1), Kingston (2), Crucial (3). But if the Crucial goes to first slot, it's magically OK. I don't know what to think about it biggrin.gif

So I can't use 3nd and 4th slot. And I have still problem when it's 1st and 3rd slot.

RAM's are Unganged.

Have you ever ran Memtest on those sticks? It appears they have a new version. I haven't used it in a while, but this is what I've used to test memory sticks for problems. It's been a few years so there may be something else better for testing memory.

OT: You could try your overclock with just the Crucial stick in there.
