May have to switch out to a unit with E7's. They do support SSE.

The do support it:

Everyone should note, they have just doubled the size of the WU's.

Workunits length

So the credit advantage from optimization didn't last long. redface.gif

How come? Is there a QRB that scales in a geometric progression?

What I understand (considering the notice contains a sentence about credit adjustment) is that he basically wants to ease up on server load.

Ya, he says credits should scale accordingly, meaning double length WU's would produce double the points.

I do wonder if the optimized client will still do the work units faster than standard client... Sure the units themselves are twice the size, but if there's still that 2.5x completion due to optimized client.... Still a nice credit boost

Well you probably are all correct, it is quite possible I read it wrong.thumb.gif

It happens to the best of us...wink.gif

New work units with optimized client are now coming in at 4600-4853s on my 4770k, and are validating. To put that into perspective, before work unit size was doubled and the optimized client was out, it was taking 5066-5802s. Optimised client is definitely still a boost ^_^

Notice is out. The optimized apps are now part of the official client, suppoting all three instruction sets.

Nice to see they're happy with what he did... Sure it means no more "advantage" for those running the optimized client, but on the flipside it means ALL of the science will be done in a faster timeframe. ^_^
