The Overclock.net Events Team is proud to announce that we will be joining the Radeon ExtravaLANza 2016 for the fourth time as Community Partner. We will be hosting a private section withing the BYOC LAN party itself. Our section will be for casual play but there will be several opportunities to compete for anyone who wishes to do so. Dota 2, CS:GO, and Sm4sh will be the primary titles featured. Each title will have a prize pool of $2,000.
While a complete partner list has not yet been released, we do know that a good number of AMD's strategic business partners will be taking part in the public expo and tech demo section hosted in AMD's main atrium.
Where?
AMD Markham (Yes! At AMD Headquarters!)
1 Commerce Valley Dr. East
Markham, ON L3T 7X6
When?
November 5th, 2016 from 10 AM to 10 PM
Cost?
$50 per casual seat or $250 per competitive team
How Large:
40 Dota 2 seats
40 CS:GO seats
20 Casual Gaming seats
64 Sm4sh entrants
Thousands of public attendees in the public expo
Will be the but probably just the expo. Too poor to pay $60 lol. It does not help that most people there will be not form OCN community unlike before.
I do not remember from last time but can you bring a friend or do you have to buy a ticket for each person even though they are not going to bring a PC?
Edit: Bought 2 tickets. See you guys there. I hope they open more seats for OCN if gaming tickets do not fill up.

To enter the BYOC area they will need a BYOC ticket.
I will ask about opening up more OCN tickets if we sell through. AMD's priority is on eSports as the event is funded from their eSports marketing dollars this time around (notice that the event is not paired with any product launches). It does look like the tournaments are having a harder time selling than usual due to the prize pool reductions from $3,000 to $2,000 each combined with the price increase for tickets.

Seating will be 2 per table, the tables will either be 6 foot or 5 foot tables. I unfortunately won't know which type until the Friday before when we start setup.

AMD legal has never allowed LN2 to be present at an event in Canada to date. If their opinion on it changes I will make sure we have it at a future event, but I can't see it happening anytime soon.

This is about the only good thing that happens here in Toronto. Nothing is really close. At least in Vancouver they can just drive to Seattle for so much more events that go on down there.
Folks, our social media posts for this event are up! Help us promote - like / share / retweet / etc until your hearts' content (or you're sick of social media).
