Don't know about the Thermaltake fans. Also it looks like you chose a Samsung 840 EVO 500GB by accident instead of 850. EK Vardars would fit your theme better.

DDR4 2400? I can see you're going for a themed build but aim higher than that. Keeping your apparent stylistic themes in mind, check out Corsair Dominator Platinum SE or Vengeance white LED. Or grey/silver and white G.SKILL TridentZ (not to mention G.SKILL has the best DDR4).

You should probably get a Z170 with a PLX chip if there are any. Expensive and not necessary now, but if you plan to SLI future HBM 2 GPUs you'll want it.

Personally I'd choose the Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX tempered glass in silver over the Primo, for the build quality and looks not to mention how spectacularly designed the Evolv is known to be (not to say the Primo isn't as well designed in terms of functionality).

I have the 840 EVO because that's the one I have now, no real reason to spend an extra 150 just for "new VNAND technology" when I got an 840 already with the same 500GB storage.

Currently have the Black Aluminum Entho Primo, Which I will sell for the White version or paint, depending on which one makes more sense and is less costly. It is a very unique case and not to mention build quality and room it has inside and how everything is laid out for me, still one of the best cases to date IMO and is only rivaled "fully" with CaseLab Cases =) which allow more customization to boot, but not everyone everyone has $600+ for a computer case. This is just my 2 cents. =)

Choose the 2400MHz DDR4 because:

1: Cheaper
2. More Headroom To OC the RAM & CPU (Currently have a 4770k paired with 2400MHz RAM and it is insanely fast)
3. Rly rly rly thought looonngg and hard about getting 3000MHz, but after seeing so many complaints and problems ppl were having with 3GHz+ DDR4 RAM from MOBOs not recognizing it to posting/boot issues, I decided I might just play it safe & save money until Crucial releases the Ballistix Sport in Higher DDR4 frequencies in all white, which they don't currently I believe.

4. Was looking at TridentZs which though pricier than the Crucial, I still thought they were also aesthetically pleasing, but I then noticed that the timings & pricepoint on the Crucials seemed more consistent vs the trident

Because according to the leaked info, it operates in the same range of the 6-core 6800 and 6850 multi-thread wise without being oced that is crazy being that it is a quad core...leaked single thread and multi thread support benchmark wise is ridiculous

Because the wait isn't long and the i7 7700k should hit higher frequencies. Buying a product right as it is about to become obsolete doesn't make much sense.

7700k is the replacement like it or not, it will make the 6700k obsolete. We'll see how well it overclocks, best to wait for those results rather than pulling numbers out of your ass and being so impatient.

Haswell Refresh didnt make Haswell obsolete, about overclocking is really worth waiting to see a slighly higher difference?a binned Skylake could achieve same numbers

How about binned Kaby Lake then?

I guess personally the most interesting thing about Kabylake will be seeing the 200 series motherboards. That's what usually draws me into spending money. I have like 20 Z170 boards and that's after I sold off a few.

I just never quite get the perfect set of features, color, layout etc

Kaby Lake is to Skylake as Devil's Canyon is to Haswell. Or Broadwell-E is to Haswell-E. I don't expect massive performance gains with Kaby Lake. Regardless, Skylake will not be obsolete. If you honestly think Skylake will be obsolete, I don't think you know what "obsolete" means.

Comparing 2400 MHz DDR3 against DDR4 is a bit silly. The IMC in Haswell is not quite as good as the one in Skylake.

I'm not going to trust leaks very much, especially when I understand Kaby Lake is just Skylake optimized. Likewise, I'm not going to get excited over a new chipset for the same socket/architecture. The next Intel products worth the excitement will be Skylake-X. Not sure why you keep comparing things to Broadwell-E. You might as well compare them to Haswell-E. The die shrink didn't really bring much excitement and you're talking as if Broadwell-E was groundbreaking.

If you really wanted to wait for something mainstream, wait for Coffee Lake. Kaby Lake will not be worth it, at least compared to Skylake.

then add the 200-300MHz difference kaby lake adds and faster DRAM and you get Broadwell-E performance

I just realized we're comparing a 4.2 GHz quad to a 3.6 GHz hex on older architecture. Overclock the Broadwell-E, or Haswell-E for that matter, and it would blow away Skylake. If you want better multithreaded performance, Kaby Lake isn't the best investment. Add in the fact you're coming from Haswell and it's a rather miniscule upgrade. Then again, in your eyes, Haswell is obsolete. I'm surprised you're still using it.
