I'm looking at the lcd aquaero fan controller http://www.performance-pcs.com/aquacomputer-aquaero-6-pro-usb-fan-controller-grafik-lcd.html and $100 reservoir mounts https://www.singularitycomputers.com/shop/watercooling/reservoir-mounts/reservoir-mount-core-single-v3
It's a slippery slope of awesomeness.

Hahahah I've already lost my wallet to this. biggrin.gif but I guess I can save a lot on tubing and a lot on material since my uncle is a 'plumber' with a large workshop/garage. I'm also looking to get them rads and some fans used.... and for the reservoirs I have some ideas to build then myself. Will hAve to see tho. biggrin.gif
I think of this as a hobby. Other people loose a fortune on riding horses and stuff.. so... I think this is kind of better tongue.gif

Found the .skp. Its the format it saves the doc in. Doesnt show that option when you hit "export..." Interesting... rolleyes.gif Really looking forward to hear from you smile.gif

This looks like it could turn out to be a very impressive desk - I like it!

Hey Guys,
its been a long time, I know. Spend the winter with personal stuff mostly but also with searching for some cheap way to build that desk.
Statics is a b***h. Thats the lesson I've learned so far. But I came up with something, that could fit my Needs. This is mostly from 3 mm raw steel, hence have a black-greyish look, and will weigh arround 80 kg without the parts or the water. I found a Company, that will do this for me. They said it will cost arround 500 € but I want to ask you guys for a final look before I let them calculate the real offer. If i missed something, or if you have any suggestions, pleas let me know! smile.gif
Especialy on the Ventilation part: I think about opening a slim 2,5 cm airslot on the left end of the desk, so that the Rads have to suck the air through the whole thing and press it out on the right end. The other Option would be to open the right leg for air on both sides, so that there would never be any airflow under the glas.

Off-Topic: Should I Change the jpgs on the first post, since that design is something for the future now? smile.gif

Looks good, I did like the raised section with the fan controller on the first design though.

There is a lot of room in there, but I'd say you still want some airflow under the glass to move heat away from any components that are not watercooled.

I'm all for overkill, but I'm curious as to what kind of monster are you building that requires that much radiator capacity? I think my car has less!

Thanks for the input!
I too liked the furst design better, but maybe im to german, maybe just to greedy, but that design wouldve costed a fortune. I did try to simplyfiy it, but couldnt get under the 2k € mark. The new design is more like a ikea thing and less adventurous. Not a bad thing necessarily, but well.. im still upset a bit.
As for the fan controller: I think, ill try to put it in there facing upwards, right next to the window. I cant measure ut because i never used one of these things so im inexperienced with how much cable space it will need. So i decided to.go with it once it is assembled.
The temperature and flow meters will maybe find a spot coming out of the desktop and give it a nice naval look. But those are also parts i dont have and never used, so lets see, how it turns out smile.gif

Okay so airflow under the glass. Kay will add it. I think it will look better anyways.

I still dont know which parts i will add. Im just addicted to build this desk. Its like i think l33p said in one post: can't think can't sleep properly until its done. Therefore i dont want to cut corners or do it half-assed. If i can fit in 4 560ies, i will. A german saying is: bettee have than need.

What do you think about the spacing? Ill have jusg 7 cm to fit the mobo with waterblock and fittings. Will that be enough? I am ready to go with ek annihilatior if i have to.

And should i change the original post in this thread? Or even open a new one?
