Is it indeed typical for D5 PWM units to not work well with RPM monitoring

Seems by a few searches it is fairly normal for PWM D5 to not politely interact with some motherboards?

I have an Aquacomputer D5 Pump Core | PWM Equipped and was reporting some RPM but after testing as CPU header it now reports 0 everywhere?

Pump is obviously working, can see flow in 250ml fish tank lol

I've never had an issue with my Swiftech, and it has been through three gens of ASUS Sabertooths and an MSI Z97 MPower. I'm really not sure if it is a common issue, but it isn't something I have seen mentioned. I know there are issues with some boards with speed control due to some pumps not using the same PWM standard, other than that, I haven't seen anything recurring.

Honestly, I agree, I had read about some compatibility issues with earlier models.

This particular purchase was after the revision to correct any issue with Intel PWM.

I doubt I pulled or nicked a wire but, it is still functioning otherwise perfectly?

I may purchase a replacement unit just to have it. I'm one of those nutbags who mods their main PC.
