FX 6300 Overclocking Heat Output

Specs:
Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming
CPU: AMD FX 6300
CPU Cooler: NZXT x61 Kraken 280mm Radiator
RAM: Kingston HyperX 2x8GB
PSU: 750W Antec
GPU: MSI R9 390

I figured I'd put the specs there so you know what I'm talking about.

Basically what I'm having trouble with is that I've overclocked the CPU to 4.8 Ghz on a 24.00x multiplier, but my motherboard's "auto" settings don't increase voltage enough to hold it, and so I just went with +0.4V, which worked with the side effect of almost fuill time 100% fan usage because of the heat. I've managed to reduce the voltage to +0.3V, and when I tried +0.28V it wouldn't boot and I had to take the CMOS battery out. I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong and if voltage does infact relate directly to heat produced, in which case I don't think there's anything I can do to lower temps more but to clock it lower. Note that if I use AMD Overdrive and auto clock it, it gets a stable clock of 4.5 Ghz with no extra overheating and the fans still on low; barely audible.

I'm basically just here for some opinions or advice, Because I really don't want to have to pull out the CMOS battery again if I explore a little too much, seeing as the wingnut who designed this board put it right underneath the top graphics card slot.

I doubt that an overclock will cause your fans nor pump to have a shorter lifespan. Think of all the Dell / HP computer "appliances" that have never been opened and cleaned out and have had their fans running full blast for the last 5 years!
