2666mhz and 3000mhz ram difference?

Just a quick question for my upcoming build. I'm going to be going x99 and I want to get 32 gigs or ram, yes I know it's overkill and you guys would suggest 16 gigs, but let's just stick to 32.
I originally wanted to get 32 gigs (4x8gb) of 3000mhz corsair vengeance lpx: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengeance-lpx-32gb-4x8gb-ddr4-dram-3000mhz-c15-memory-kit-black-cmk32gx4m4c3000c15

But, now I'm decided whether to get 2666 mhz and OC it to 2800mhz, will there be much of a difference if any at all if i go 2666 instead of 3000? I will be mostly gaming and I also will be getting into using adobe programs. Also, one more question, why is the 2666 mhz ram more expensive than the 3000mhz ram listed above?: http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vengeance-lpx-32gb-4x8gb-ddr4-dram-2666mhz-c16-memory-kit-white-cmk32gx4m4a2666c16w

Thanks

The 2666mhz kit uses 1.2 vs the 1.36v of the 3000mhz kit, maybe there are slightly better quality memory chips on the 2666 kit.

Not sure if you will notice the difference between 2666/2800/3000 but people have shown in some games that 2133 vs 3000 is quite noticeable (10fps). The other thing is you may get a 3000Mhz kit, or a 2666mhz kit and oc it 2800 or whatever, but maybe the CPU won't handle those speeds anyway...

I would buy the 3000MHz kit. Simply because it is for sure no problem to drive the 3000MHz RAM kit with the settings of the 2666MHz kit.
The price is a thing of supply and demand. 2666MHz kits are not that highly coveted.
Most ppl buy as stable as possible (2133MHz or 2400MHz as Intel recommends) or as fast as it gets (3000MHz and beyond). So there is more RAM in these ranges on the market. 2666MHz is kind of mediocre and outdated.

Just my 2 cents.

If the memory controller makes trouble (silicon lottery) you can fallback to 2666MHz or give extra voltage to VCCSA (and maybe a bit more VCCIO - but really not much).
But 3000MHz XMP should be fine with Broadwell-E (I drive 3200@CL14) without issues.

Have fun with the RAM!
