In a recent article on PC World, we were able to glean a bit more information into some of the conceptual aspects of the game all due to a grant filed by CDPR for public assistance on some key aspects of the game. Now, we were at the mercy of Google Translate but what came through was this:

CD Projekt Red has requested funding for the following:
I thought the company was doing very well monetarily. Hell, maybe it's just that they want to do a good job, a bloody damn fine good damn job.

What are your thoughts?

I apologize if it's a repost.

How's this gonna work for a video game, they sell company shares ? They sell pre-orders ?
They're asking for public funds from the Polish government; looks like some kind of cutting edge technology subsidy.

CD Red Project, is one of the few good left in the industry, along with Chris Roberts team.

I've liked all the Witchers series, and if they can do the same quality of game with CyberPunk, then I'm in no question asked.

Nevermind the Witcher 3 downgrade.

Granted, a great game. Downgraded nonetheless.

Absolutely. Furthermore, public investment in the project will improve the overall quality of the game, so that hopefully we end up with less whiners. I'm willing to drop some serious money on this.

A lot of countries fund local art projects. I don't think CD Projekt Red is lacking money, but if they can get free funding from the government, there's no reason not to apply.

They are asking for about 7 million USD, it's not something the end users are supposed to fund.

There's enough interest in this game that crowdfunding to that amount is a real possibility.

Maybe, but it's really not going to happen. They are simply asking the government for a slice of the pie.

I gave star citizen my 125$ pledge. I do not mind funding cyberpunk at all. I'm emotionally invested in space and the future. I think I'm in a transitional state of life where I'm waiting to die again and hopefully wake in the future.

wow, and here I thought I was alone in this kind of ideology, looking forward to the future, even if it's ends up being a dystopian future

at the rate our "humanity" is going, and the evil corporations along with corrupt politicians world wide, this is more than likely to become true.

Speaking of voice actor unions and CD Projekt Red, maybe they'll use the extra funds to get some decent voice acting. For all the good things TW3 had going for it, the voice acting was horrible.

hell no, instead of Projeckt Red, it will turn into Bloody Red mess, once EA is done with sucking all the life out of the Witcher's franchise, there wouldn't be anything left of the original game.

Just like how they killed MassEffect and DragonAge, Bioware was great until they got eaten by EA.

I'm fairly certain CDPR isn't going to even consider going that route. Best to stay away from that mess.

Or... I and all the 'whiners' continue to complain until change occurs.

"Bend over and take it.. I did..." Wonderful advice.
