ASUS X99 STRIX

Thread Starter
Current BIOS version: 1203

I've had numerous problems from the X99 chipset, because it's plagued with bugs, so I updated to 1203, but now my SSD will not be detected under SATA_1. Now if I switch, it will detect it temporarily, but after the next normal boot, the SSD is no longer detected. I obviously don't have time with this, and neither does anyone else.

Firstly, I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this problem, and if it's ideal to rollback temporarily and endure the other more tolerable bugs until there's a newer update?

Also, I tried to sign up to the ASUS RoG forum, but it wouldn't let me login, as it said that my password was incorrect, even after activating and changing the password.

Has anyone had this problem? If so, what's your advice?

I highly doubt it's my SSD, because it coincidentally stopped being recognised immediately after updating it the BIOS, and I've literally had no problems before.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

The Asus X99 Strix board is up to 1401 now. I think I was running 1201 previously and had no issues with my SSD in the SATA_1 slot. I just updated to 1401 last weekend and it's been stable so far.

Raja mentioned the latest BIOS is recommended by HQ in post 14488 of the North America Support Thread. I just wish they were a little more elaborate in their release notes instead of saying "Improved System Stability" all the time.

I've updated my BIOS and it seems better.

I do agree that they need to more elaborate, because I feel as though I'm updating the BIOS and it may not even fix the problems I've been having.

Thanks anyway!
