Glad you like the thread!

We are getting closer and closer to the supposed release , just a little bit more patience is required. I really cant wait to play it, it feels like ages since I have played Tekken. It is one of my absolutely favourite franchises which I have played since I have been a child, so playing it again and this time around on PC is going to be a great experience.

The steam page for Tekken 7 is already online: http://store.steampowered.com/app/389730/

So unless you are eyemusician you are not going to get far with Yoshimitsu, his latest Tekken 7 design makes it a complex and rather weak character as well as kind of a gamble. An execution can either result in a very favourable outcome or in an instant loss. Not that he wasnt always like that but now he is like that to an even greater extent. The video I linked below explains everything perfectly. So I guess it is my interest to main someone else which is kind of weird as Yoshimitsu was always my main one, the problem is that I havent played seriously since Like Tekken 4. But now that I am planning to get back to it once Tekken 7 releases I must make sure I pick a a character accordingly.

Yeah Yoshi was more legit in the past, I don't know why they changed him so drastically. He still has potential, it's just like he said, more risk based. Not sure how much you watch Aris but he had Mateo over for DR matches recently. Mateo is easily top 15 in the US, taught me a lot and basically live at my apartment some of the time back in DR.

The fact that he has two stances now and needs to switch between his swords makes him significantly more difficult to play as. The whole put swords back in and stuff is very inconvenient and just looks weird. I have no idea who those guys you mentioned are, they aint good enough I guess for me to know them

Anyways, The Global King of Iron Fist Global Tournament 2016 happened not so long ago, damn what a show! Some fights were so much entertainment, fun and hype. Last time I was this interested in watching a game being played professional was back when I used to watch professional StarCraft 2 tournaments during the Wings of Liberty era. Watching players like Knee, Saint, Im So Hot, Princess Ling and S.H.O.W. play is a tremendous experience, especially when you understand how tough it is to play like them, simply fascinating. I would recommend checking it out, linked the videos below.

Damn am I hyped for Tekken 7, cannot wait to get my hands on it and finally play it. Havent played Tekken properly since what feels like ages

So, I remember us discussing this before and I'm pretty sure you were uninterested in trying to play the game competitively yourself. Has that changed? I'm telling you nothing is more fun than meeting local players and playing in tournaments! I don't ever win them despite being a solid player, but there is never a shortage of fun, and I've met and known countless players because of it.

Playing any game professionally is a great commitment as well as a great sacrifice. My studies and work wouldn't allow me to play Tekken 7 competitively, of course I am looking forward to learn the game properly and try to reach a rather high skill-set but I am not going to go as far as playing professionally and participating in tournaments. The Tekken 7 scene in Europe is also very limited, it is nowhere near as big as in the States, Japan or South-Korea. I am also pretty sure there is not a single Tekken 7 Arcade machine here in Switzerland. Once the game comes out I will play the hell out of it and will try to acquire skills which will enable me to fight at a high level but definitely not professionally. I haven't come across a single video game which I liked enough to play professionally.

Well I'm not saying to try and make real money off it, but playing in a tournament or two

. I'm not into Tekken with money in mind!

True, the Steam page even had the 28th of February for a while before being removed, then it was stated that the date was a placeholder, the time frame is still Q1 though. I assume the game will release sometime in March, would be great to get it in February though, the sooner the better. I really cannot wait for this game, the hype is real. Watching Aris and professional Tekken 7 fights is all I am doing as of late whenever I have the possibility to do so. Now that the next uni quarter begins, may the long train rides begin, poor mobile data.

I am planning on playing it on PC using the Xbox One controller, hopefully it is going to be supported, if not then I am screwed. Not sure whether this has been answered already or not but is there going to be cross-play, doe anyone know? I remember this being discussed somewhere but forgot whether that was eventually a possibility or not.

Has not been answered yet. People have asked the devs but they seemed uncertain. There are not very details about the actual released game much in general, but I'm guessing this month we'll find out the bulk of it.

If you plan on trying to play the game well I'd recommend a playstation d-pad of any sort, XB1's D-pad is way better than the 360's was but the PS pads are basically the best in the business.

Ladies & Gentleman I am officially back in the Tekken scene, dusted off my PS3 and installed T6. Back at it again. There is loads to re-learn as I havent played Tekken since what feels like ages but its great to be back. I have played every single Tekken except for TT2. Fun fact, Tekken has always been my very first game for every Playstation console that I have owned. That includes: PS1, PS2, PS2 Slim, PSP and PS3.

I am now playing Kazuya just to get a grip on things and familiarize myself with the game again. Have to re-learn when to SS, when to whiff punish, combos, timings framedata, certain moves like the EWGF and many other things. Tekken is definitely a very difficult and complex game and I actually like that, it is easy to pick up and play but extremely difficulty to master as it has so much depth to it.

For Tekken 7 however I will be transitioning to PC and the hype is real. The release date will be announced this month, considering the fact that it is currently mid-january, the release date should be announced in the coming days. I am really looking forward to the updated graphics and the new features however I must say that I do not like any of the new characters that have been introduced so far, not a single one of them. Hopefully we will be getting some of the older characters, Lei is supposed to be announced next and I hope that Armor King will make it into T7 as well. I also hope that we will have separate offline ranks in Tekken 7, because in T6 you could only get to 1st Dan offline, to surpass that rank you were forced to play online whick sucked. So I hope we will have online and offline ranking in Tekken 7.

I still dont know who I am going to main in Tekken 7, I will be playing some Tekken 6 in the mean time and then will decide. Might stick to maining Kazuya and play Yoshimitsu as a secondary char. I mained Yoshi in all previous Tekken games.

Kaz is a very hard character to master, just take that into consideration.

But yeah you are right, plus he has been in every Tekken and is a rather prominent character. People are familiar with him and know how to play against him, like for example always side stepping to the left etc.

So presumably the release of Tekken 7 is going to be delayed according to some speculations and hints. If this ends up being true then meh, but oh well, more time to practice and get ready for the game. The game has been in development for years now and it still doesnt seem to be finished, how this is possible is something I cannot understand, maybe they just dont want to reveal us all the available content or maybe because they have a very small development team. Tekken doesnt really require all that much development time, I mean its just characters and stages as well as customisation items, thats it. Balance is the most challenging and time demanding part but it shouldn't take such an immense amount of time especially when you can carry over some of the balance aspects from the previous games. I also have to point out that I dont like Harada and how he handles things, dude is weird and doesnt take things seriously enough. Likes screwing around too. Tekken 6 has been released 10 years ago, 10 freaking years and we still have no T7, in fact it will be getting delayed to an even further time-frame, see that yourself. This is really annoying.

So yeah, as speculated, the release date has been delayed. So much for an early 2017 release. The delay has not been justified in the slightest. They had 10 years to create as they call it "content". Also, Harada should learn English cause that is just embarrassing for someone in his position not to be able to speak an international language. I dont think he even speaks anything but Japanese.

The good thing is that I have more time to prepare for the release, by practicing with Tekken 6. By June I will have a new GPU so thats good too.
