2017

The forum folding war is upon us! The war will be held from Feb 13th to Feb 20th, beginning and ending at Noon UTC.

The Lanyards is a team devoted to the fans of Folding@Home merchandise (ahem admins!), specifically the coveted lanyards that were released several years ago. So lets all fold together and show the higher ups just how much we love OCN and Folding related gear.

If you have no idea what the Forum Folding War (FFW) is, see the FAQ below.

What is it?
The FFW is a week long event every December winter. Members of the Folding selection create various teams representing anything and everything. The team that folds the most points wins!

Are there any restrictions?
No, each team can have any number of people folding on any amount of hardware.

Are there prizes?
YES! The winning team will get prizes from a "special" prize pool. All other teams will draw from a general pool.

Why should I fold for your team?
Because for years the same teams have dominated the event. Also, its more likely that OCN will bring back the lanyards if we can show more support! More good reasons will be added here as I think of them

I'm a first time folder, can I join?
Of course! There are a ton of helpful people in the folding section. You can PM me or any of the staff, or just simply post in this thread.

What a silly name for a team. Who came up with this idea anyway?
Team name inspiration goes to bigblock990, you can blame him.

Any prizes specific to those who fold for this team?
Possibly. If I can arrange it in time.

How do I sign up for this awesome team??

I would be cool if we could do a limited run of lanyards for the team but I am sure that violates a few copyright rules.

I really want a OCN lanyard or OCN keyboard. Or something OCN labeled.

Oh I've definitely harassed ENTERPRISE a couple times about bringing them back, but management always has a lot to do and lanyards are a pretty low priority.

The hoops that possible vendors have to go through make it so hard for a small business that they just give up, because in the end it's not worth it to them. I can tell you that a red and white with .net lanyard would not be approved.

I have snagged a dedicated folding card from the market place

. I wont be overtaking beercan any time soon but it should provide a bit of a boost in time for the FFW.

I know the feels. Best of luck with snagging that position

Running HFM again after a while, for my main PC.

Where do you put the C in at? The URL changed and i'm not sure where it goes now.

Also, can someone throw me a link on how to get the Web Generation thing working. Thanks

Try that, I use HFM to monitor all my PC's. If you link the clients together then HFM will pick it up.

I still need to know where to put the C at, it used to say "psummary.html" but now the URL in HFM is different and idk where to put it.

As far as I know "psummaryC" is no longer necessary in order to get beta WU info. The new "Project Download URL" (http://assign.stanford.edu/api/project/summary) in, Preferences -> Web Settings, has all of the active F@H projects.
