Currently I am with GTX 970 with Core i7 3rd gen - 8 GB ram. You can see my kit in HERE
Currently I am happy with it. But I am thinking to upgrade the GPU to GTX-1070. I am now with Dell-S2340L. Running with 1080P. Serious gamer. Playing Battlefield 1 and other hardcore games. And I like beautiful graphics.
Yeah, my card is now over 2 year. I got 3 year warranty and only one year remainng in warranty. Mostly i sold my cards in that time. But now i think 970 is pretty solid card though.
1070 Will cost 480$ in our country (Myanmar). And it can empty my pocket.
My Question is Is 1070 Need For 1080P gaming ?? (Not for 4k. 144Hz.. etc)
I'd think you would be better off buying a 120+ Hz, 1 ms, monitor with that cash. Then again, you'd have to check your FPS in battlefield to see if it's worth it. Their isn't a huge difference between 970 and 1070. We won't see an architecture change until next quarter. That should net a bigger increase over the previous cards.
Of course, if your rich and money is no object, buy away....
For retrospect, my 970 is pushing a 1440p monitor at 120Hz. I won't be buying any of the 10XX series cards. I think the only reason to push for the 10XX is if your updating a much older card, or your pushing the bounds in VR and that FPS dip is crushing the immersion.
I don't play battlefield though so my input may be skewed.
A 1070 this close to the next big launch is a bad buy. If you cannot live without the 1070 tier performance, get it. But if you can survive a few more weeks / months, grab a used 980 / 980ti / R9 390 / FuryX / Fury

Well, if you're open to more then, by further analyzing your query, I think the 1070 would be underutilized by your 1080p screen as most of the work in your system with every application currently in the market would be bottlenecked due to your processor not able to submit work as fast as the 1070 be able to complete it. This is further compounded by you have a locked processor that you cannot overclock to make it work faster to submit the work to the 1070.
An underutilized system would mean your money went underutilized
A used 980ti would be a nice upgrade. I just dumped all my 970s and picked up a 980ti G1 for $280 open box. I do 1080P@144hz and it can handle everything I play. I will be getting 3 more though at some point.
I had a 970 in my rig and upgraded to a 1070 in anticipation of playing BF1. I put my old 970 in my daughters rig and she uses it to play BF1 as well. We both have 1440p monitors and after seeing how well her pc runs the game with a 970 (medium settings) I kind of regret upgrading so soon. In hindsight I wish I had waited another generation before upgrading but my daughter is so happy with the 970 it was all worthwhile.
Do yourself a favor and buy an SSD urgently. The best way to make your computer feel like new. And at least a 250 GB to put your OS and BF 1 in it. That should be your most important upgrade right now. You won't regret.

I second this, an ssd makes everything so much more enjoyable, especially those start up times.
And, at this point you are probably better off waiting for the next gpu sites to hit, for price fluctuations.
I would say yes... I'm sure with the GTX970 there is a growing number of games where you have to make graphical tweaks to maintain 60+fps. GTX1070 performance would basically be similar to GTX970 SLI without all the vram and inconsistant performance negatives. You would be good at 1080p for a long time.
Seems to be a decent deal on the used 970. But spending it on a card that is about to get it's value slashed for holidays and the incoming cards would be bad. If money is not an issue, do it!!
I will say no. The GTX 970 still has enough power to do 1080P with the 3770 CPU and play games that will still look good.
You know that you want the 1070. It would be about the same as my daily rig with a stock 3770K and a 980 Ti. Most default game settings would go to high.
