Try setting CPU Power Phase Control to Extreme. With Phenom II X6 1045t I can't get it beyond 3.9 GHz without it. Unfortunately it raises temperatures considerably, especially socket temperature and especially with water cooling. I'm considering some extra cooling, like fan on CPU backplate.

How about the basic overclocking settings? Just want to make sure I have all my bases covered, cause there's so many options in this bios redface.gif

Check out the ASUS motherboard Piledriver overclocking guide thread here. It has all the basic settings outlined. Though it does some things I don't recommend on this board like setting LLC to "very high".

Excellent, thanks! I've been able to get 4.6 stable (?) with 10 passes on IBT very high setting, but at a fairly high voltage 1.47v if I remember correctly. Temps have been great on the VRM's too, so I think there's still more headroom for a bit high OC. What a difference the H100iV2 makes over the H60 too... tongue.gif

Having an issue with my CPU frequency throttling when set to 23.5 cpu multiplier. Ultra high LLC, 1.47v

The weird thing is, I'm pretty sure I have all the bios features disabled that would cause any kind of throttling. This is happening when using IBT to test for stability, VRM hits around 81C max, and cpu usually sits around the low 50's.

mine was doing the same thing until i put a fan on the vrm's.

That definitely helped the throttling, I have my fan directly zip tied flat to the VRM heatsink, but can't seem to get 4.8ghz stable without out crazy high voltage (probably around 1.5v?). Would be ideal to run the vrm fan at full speed, but it's just too damn loud (60mm), so I decided to run it with a low voltage adapter from one of my other fans that I had lying around.

Anyone know what the temps the VRM's on this board are capable of handling comfortably? Was pushing 81C on em a couple times while testing with IBT.

Hello people.

I am new to the forum and i have a couple of questions for the mobo, which I recently got after my 970a-ud3p v1 had oil leak from the vrm.
1.I noticed that there is no option to get HT above 12x multiplier. Is there an other way ,besides blck overclock ofc?
2.How do you measure VRM temps? i use Speedfan and HWinfo but they have no such temp.

My rig
fx 6300 (lapped,4,5Ghz,1.4volt)
Asus 970 Gaming Rro/Aura
Kingston blu 4GBx2
R9 380 4Gb Nitro
Fractal 750w Edison

Thanks

Hello. I hope you guys and gals can give me some guidance, please.

I bought a Gigabyte GA-970 Gaming SLI board and installed it, everything worked except the audio. Returned it and reinstalled my trusty Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Rev 5.0 board and everything worked as it should. I then stumbled on this excellent looking board and bought it. Here is the problem, I removed my trusty Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Rev 5.0 board again, installed the Asus, and could never get the Asus to recognize my internal Toshiba DT01ACA100 ATA hard drive so I could get into the BIOS to see if the correct version was installed (I believe ASUS just came out with an update to support my FX 8370 on 12/12/2016). I get no beep from the speaker, no POST, have a black screen on the monitor, did not hear the hard drive spin up, and no HDD activity light indicated. The board lights up as it should, the red standby light is on as normal, and I saw no other LED's lit on the board other than the great colors of the board. I quadruple checked my connections, finally gave up for the night and reinstalled the trusty Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3, and once again, everything works as it should.

Any ideas please? Very tired, so going to crash, but would certainly appreciate any and all assistance please.

Does anyone know how to have the motherboard LED's turn off when the computer is shut down? Doesn't make sense having em on 24/7
