I purchased a Corsair CX750M PSU in Oct 2015 from Amazon. When it arrived, I contact Corsair to request an additional cable. They had me send them a copy of my sales receipt from Amazon and sent the cable without charge. Very nice!
Last week, the Corsair died. I contacted Corsair about a warranty repair/replacement. They again asked for a copy of my receipt, which I sent again. They then replied that since I purchased their product from an unauthorized seller they would not honor their warranty. Needless to say, I was furious with them. Seems to me that everyone and his uncle sells Corsair products, so I never imagine in my wildest dreams that there would be such a problem with a Corsair product!
I contacted Amazon, and they offered a partial refund (since the unit was 1 year old) and so I sent it back to Amazon (on their dime) for a refund of approximately 60% of the purchase price.
I am posting this here in the hope that others will be informed of this Corsair policy before making their purchase. Check with Corsair that the seller you are planning on transacting with is one of their "authorized" sellers otherwise you will have no warranty. This policy sure caught me by surprise and, very honestly, I will think long and hard before purchasing another Corsair product.
