G.SKILL DDR4 RGB Lighting with Trident Z Series Thread - Page 59

Hey guys, what's the latest with running Trident Z RGB memory with Aura Sync alongside HWmonitor and the like? Looking in to potential RGB ram kits for a full RGB build but not going to risk it is SPD setting are still getting corrupted.

Cheers

I installed it on my second RVe10 build this morning. The latest driver with enabling the SPD write or whatever it is at the bottom of the DRAM timing page made it work just as it is supposed to. Went into AURA and set it to smart based on temperature and all eight sticks of trident Z matched up to the motherboard. I made sure my CPU-Z was current and downloaded the most recent HWinfo. Everything is playing nicely. Seems to be sorted now.

128GB 3200c14 RGB.

128GB 3200c14 RGB.

Glad to hear it's working now since I'm getting ready to buy some of the RGB Trident Z ram thumb.gif

It seems like it took far longer to get it straightened out than it should have.

Is anyone else out there still have trouble with theirs?

In reading this thread over at the ROG forums I see there are a few bugs people are having. Particularly with the 16GB kits.

Did you get your motherboard and CPU yet? Sorry, I haven't read your build thread, just saw that you were planning a Rampage VI extreme.

What CPU?

I want an R6E/7980ex combo but need to buy a new daily driver commuter car first. Going to pick up an old 2001 540i 6 speed this week. Then mining proceeds can go to my next PC soon enough.

No I haven't bought the hardware yet... but soon. Yes I'm going with the Rampage Extreme.

Haven't decided on CPU yet, but most likely going with a 7900x.

Hoping someone may be able to assist, looking to purchase RAM for my new 8700k system, I've been SCOURING the internet for help but nothing concrete is coming up with regards to OC potential on 16GB vs 8GB sticks and 4xDIMM and 2xDIMM population. The RAM I'm tossing up between is:

F4-3200C14D-32GTZR (2x16GB)
F4-3200C14D-16GTZR (2x8GB) | F4-3200C14Q-32GTZR (4x8GB)

All RAM is CL14 and 3200MHz so its basically comes down to a question of Overclocking and strain on the Integrated Memory Controller (IMC) with regards to filling all 4 DIMMs and if Overclocking on higher capacity sticks (16GB vs 8GB) is worse - would it be wiser to get 2x16GB vs 2x8GB (I know that's double the quantity, but considering future proofing 4x8GB).

Thxs!
