Kaby Lake Binning

Thread Starter
It's almost here! I'll keep this thread updated with our progress, expect 7700Ks up for sale within a few days of launch.
I am really hoping for some excellent results from Kaby Lake!

You guys don't to trade in? tongue.gif

Got a two week old 6700K.

I think it's pretty obvious Kaby is not gonna rock anyone's socks off. Probably will show up to the party with a few 5Ghz though.

I'm guessing 5G+ smile.gif GL SL

From what I have seen so far most 7700K will do 5Ghz at varying voltages

From Gamespot:
"In terms of overclocks, your mileage may vary as every single CPU overclocks differently (even CPUs of the same SKU), but with our setup, we were able to push our 7700K to 4.8GHz with around 1.3 volts of power. This represents a six percent overclock, which was reflected with our six percent performance gain in our x264 test. That’s not a huge overclock, but perhaps the bigger concern is that our temperatures rose to the 90s. It even hit 100 degrees C on more than one occasion. That’s really hot, especially since our NZXT Kraken X61 water cooler is quite good."

Based on the 4 pre NDA reviews only 1 was not able to reach 5.0Ghz which was on Toms hardware from memory 4.85Ghz the other 3 sites ALL hit 5.0Ghz or higher at varying volts! I wasn't talking about heat output just simply clock speed! Im not knocking Silicon lottery in any kind of way and will be purchasing a 7700K from them (my 3rd btw) as they become available, hopefully around 5.2Ghz@1.375V.
