Crystal Crystal Series 460X/570X RGB Owners Club - Page 7

Hey guys, I've been wanting to do a custom loop build for quite some time and recently rebuilt my system into a 460X. At the moment I'm using a H100v2, full atx board and a 1080... So my question here, as I havent seen any builds yet, at least that I can find, is how viable is it to fit in this case for GPU and CPU cooling WITH the HDD cage staying in. HDD's staying in is a bit of a priority as I don't have very large capacity SSD's and I use quite a bit of storage.

Pics: definitely not as clean as i'd like the wiring to be, and apologies for the quality, i was way too tired after working on this to get decent pics

^ those damn SATA power cables are a pain in that location, if anyone has a solution for that i'd appreciate it as well

Just an FYI, I know that you're going for the Aurora fans but just in case you decided to revert back to the stock fans which are the SP120 RGB. Those stock fans will not work with Asus aura sync, just a heads up.

amazon item dimentions

Corsair Dominator Platinum
0.6 x 2.2 x 5.3 in

Corsair Vengeance LED
0.3 x 1.9 x 5.4 in

Corsair Vengeance LPX
3.54 x 6.1 x 0.39 in

i want to use a kracken x62 with vengeance led ram and corsair ml fans. am i screwed? are ram slots lower on some motherboards?

This will really depend on the MB's DIMM slot placement. Some boards have it a bit higher and some lower. Asus and Gigabyte boards DIMM slots seems higher compared to MSI's. It's going to be a tight fit regardless, so best is mount the rad in the front - 570X has tons of space there. Personally, I'd mount the rad in the front as it balances the hardware placement in the case.

I have a system using an MSI Z270 board with an H100i V2 and looks like this;

Here are a few Pics and videos of my current setup.

Aorus GA-Z270-Gaming K7 Motherboard
i5-7600K
16gb 4x4 Avexir Core DDR4 memory
R9 380x 4gb XFX video card (RX480 Strix on the way)
EVGA CQ 650w power supply
HyperX Predator 250gb m.2 ssd
seagate 2tb 7200rpm secondary drive
NZXT Kraken x52

First off, this case was insanely easy to build in, BUT the tempered glass gets dirty very easy, so be prepared to wipe it down before final assembly. I have Red/Black Extensions in mine and they fit....barely. not much room at all for the extension, i will be ordering custom extensions that are shorter in the future. This case is almost identical to my 400c i had mid last year. I am downsizing from a Define S with a custom loop in it. i love the simplicity of this case, but not a big fan of the fans lol. The PSU shroud is nice, but i dont like the hole in the top of it, i know it works for shorter cards but the strix 480 is a long card. since writing this post, my rx480 came in, ill get some updated pictures tonight and get them posted, i absolutely love this build

Does it have the 4-pin connector that goes directly into the Corsair hub? My hope is that I can connect an LED strips directly into this for easy/clean wiring and the colors will change with the fans.

nah, no 4pin unfortunately, the hub is only set to work w/ the corsair rgb fans.

The connector Corsair is using for it's hub and fans for anyone curious is the typical audio cable on used on desktop optical drives to connect to the motherboard. MPC-4 CD/ DVD Audio Cable but be sure to get one with 4 wires coming out and the connector with the clip so it stays secure.

I'm going to attempt to buy a cheap 5 volts RGB LED strip off ebay and then solder this cable that I have lying around hoping it powers the light and color cycles with the fans.

Can anyone confirm for me that (when also using the smaller dust filter form the 400c) the 400c front panel can go on the 460x? I think this is possible (looking into modding it abit, i love white wink.gif, also h110i at the front destorys the looks with the glass pretty much, could maybe mount 3x120 infront but am afraid am gonna damage cooling ribs)

Here's a photo from the 400C and 460X. Overall the filter as a whole is smaller on the height and width as the filter on the 460X has a much larger bezel all around as it reaches the full width and height of the case, but the fans' opening look the same so with the filter's magnets it perhaps can work on the 460X case since its four screws are off to the very edges. Pic of 400C on the left and the 460X on the right.
