1.8m long cable, braided (meh)
LOD can be adjusted from the software, and the buttons are programmable

Thought this deserved it's own thread for the KPM lovers out there.

So Roccat showed the new Kone Pure 2017, and I must say its looking very good for us KPM lovers.

It shed a few grams and is now at 88 grams (KPM was at 93g)
Same shape and size (Some changes like DPI buttons are separate and probably few minor design tweaks)
And it uses "3361" sensor which I guess is their custom tweaked 3360 sensor.

I hope they are still using the same quality we know from the KPM regards to all the mousebuttons.
KPM is one of the best mice out there imo regards to having quality buttons all around, including very nice sidebuttons, scrollwheel etc.

It's 100% buy for me and if quality is equal to KPM I will not buy another mouse for sure.
I am a avid KPM lover but I wanted an upgraded one and thank you Roccat because this is pretty much what personally wanted.

So far the only exterior changes seem to be changed graphics on the 4, 5, +- buttons and the shape of the wheel's rubber ring. Was hoping for fixed, more distributed feet shape, but that was a fat chance from the start.

Oh, and that "Pure" writing on the shell. I thought the side already says "Kone Pure". Now it's "Kone Pure Pure".

- weight was reduced to 88g from 94g or so
- buttons behind scroll wheel seem to be seperated now
- seems to have new durable coating like emp
- swarm driver (standalone before)

I've always thought the only excuse for making such a seesaw-type dpi switch is to not let the user press both buttons simultaneously. Feels quite cheap in an otherwise well-built mouse.

As for new coating - making a parallel with that "entirely new sensor" statement it could be the same or nearly the same coating as seen in their current mice.

Yea for normal use it's quite good that they kicked the seesaw button.

Regarding the sensor I'm pretty satisfied with the 3361, if it performs same or better than 3360 or 3310.
Okay, the KPM had a nice 3310 but was out just in that military color . Guess there was also a black special edition I've never seen.

Weight also is bit more competitve now

I reported mine so mods can delete it if they want.
And maybe change the title of this one

Yours has more replies so it should be kept instead of this. Easier job for the mods too.

I personally really like the 2 dpi buttons, most mice have 1.
I use them for next, previous track because the hotkeys for swapping tracks on my keyboard are very bad.

Never had a problem with them on my KPMs

Not sure about the coating, I really like the KPM coating, but might be placebo but when I tried the old laser Kone pure orange/white then they feelt soooo smooth and nice compared to my KPMs.
Changes to the feet might have been one way to tweak it a little, but then again it's nice if they have the same since you can easy get replacement feet for it and put a paracord in it on day1, which I will.

-5gram is a welcome change, sure I could prefer -10 grams but I would prefer to not sacrifice quality to do so, and I hope those -5g did not come at quality cost either.

On sensor (what's the difference between 3360 and 3361):

Cable is still braided.

The weight distribution is interesting because the KPM is quite badly balanced, so thats good news if they worked on that.
Cheers for the quotes

Noooooooo. The KPM coating was literally one of the best coatings on mice that I've used. Here's hoping the new one is at least good. Doubt it'd be as bad as DM1 PRO (S)...

KPMs braided cable isn't really all that bad. Mine is still in pristine condition even after a lot of use, no fraying and it is lightweight. Would pick it over Logitech's braided any day and prefer it over the Zowie cable.

KPM is indeed quite oddly balanced. This seems very interesting news. Wonder if the sensor is still located so high up. Also, the images of the "Owl-eye" are renders so it has the same physical casing as rest of the 3360-based sensors.

Haha niv, I'm the opposite. I dislike 2 dpi buttons. If I'm using a mice with them I generally disable 1 of them and just have the one do a cycle through - but I never change dpi.. even use 400 on desktop - my cursor feels out of control on anything higher. I've gotten used to 800 in the past but then my beautiful mousepad was like 'use me' and I was like.. ok baby.. just for you.. I'll glide all over you (leaves before post gets weirder)

Can't wait for reviews of this mouse though! I also hope there is some more mice announced.. or hopefully a zowie 3360 in the near future!

Ye as I said, I rebind the DPI buttons to more useful things.
I only use 800dpi and never change.

But 2 extra buttons that are not in the way is perfect for me to use for media functions, or work things.

Ye I hope the coating still feels the same.
The Kone Pure series have amazing coating, and ye it does get worn down quite a bit.
My KPM I used for 2 years have more of a glossy sticky feeling now, compared to the newer KPM I have which is much more smooth as they are new.

But tbh, I hope they did not mess with the smoothness of the coating, the grainy coarse coating some mice have is horrible.
