All the people complaining and returning their mice just cause it makes sounds when shaken, did they ever actually experience it during normal use? No. Did the sensor ever act up during gaming? No. Then how is it faulty? Makes no sense. RocketJumpNinja, the guy who tested like 18 mice for the supposed lens rattle noise actually used most of them, never had any problems and only noticed the rattle after shaking them in the air.
Each topic has people complaining about rattling (even this one) when it's not even a real issue.
I notice every single time I do a swipe with my G403s and my mouse wheel rattles/moves around. It has the effect of feeling like a lead weight bouncing around in the mouse. It's to the point that I was so ticked off at the build quality I opened it up and fixed it myself. Without the rattle the mouse is so much better. I don't even notice it in my hand - it just moves where I want it to move.
I have two Zowie mice, an EC2-A and a 1-A. The 2-A's scroll wheel is rock solid, minus the typical Zowie scroll wheel design. The EC1-A actually has mouse wheel rattle from a loose scroll wheel along with loud creaks when I press the mouse buttons. I paid $60 for a brand new mouse - why shouldn't I want it to not
sound like my 86 year old Eastern European grandma's knees as she goes up and down her high-rise apartment?
To turn the discussion back to Roccat, I really enjoyed my time with the KPM. I'm probably going to grab the larger version of this one, as my hunt for a 518 clone led me to them. The KPM was a bit too small for me, but great build quality.
