Roccat Kone Pure Owl-Eye (2017) - 3361 - 88g - Page 50

there is a picture, you didn't find the picture, not sure what you found, but my post was not amazon, and not uk, it was not even a webstore because it was a prototype

it is however oiled up after a few month, I said it, I judged it by the pic, the user didn't say it.

the debate was already said, i don't want to continue it now with anyone, i have similar usage on a many of my mice and they are perfectly normal and unavoidable, they did not make the coating a major selling point that already says more than anyone needs to know about it. at this point new purchases haven't last as long as that prototype so nothing you or any new user said is worth a dime over that prototype pic taken way before launch

i know you are in a honey moon with new toys but please don't reply to me about this, especially not about some forum theory accusations i've heard on nowhere else except this strange site a couple times (oh, that includes headfi, that trash hyperbole site, i don't buy headphones for years now) if you have a problem with a review go take it out on your amazon or whatever webstore sites you think i used or you found yourself.

nobody cares if someone is being a jerk because nobody can get offended over anything because this is not real life and if anyone say they are offended they are just lying. they just like to pitchfork for fun and it's as real as you want to believe it. just because you are talking about real life gear or real life whatever doesn't mean you are friends in real life or have that kind of basic human mutual respect, and seeing as how pervasive internet has become, real life friend don't mean much today either

at which point does gearfi overtake gear functionality itself? when the functionality is no more than entertainment, one can't really expect much out of gearfi either

i am very antisocial but at least i admit it deal with it bruh, when i do something out of my own conscience i don't pretend its for the greater good

Thing is, you based your opinion on a pic on the internet and what one guy says.

I can take a picture of my current mouse and say the surface is **** aswell - doesnt mean it actually is or I have no way of knowing if its true. And its a prototype, things change on prototypes all the time, even after production already started.

So to be blunt: You don't know how the new surface is, you have no idea until you have one yourself and use it for a long period of time. Anything else is speculation. Period.

I swear on this site, its always like this: someone read some bull**** about a piece of hardware and instantly 5032 people jump the bandwagon and spread **** rumours about something they know _nothing_ about in reality, but they read it on the internet, so hey it must be true, right?

Take the last XF270HU as an example where someone claimed some bull**** about the freesync causing blur or something like that. AMD were out saying that wasnt true and people who had the monitor even backed up that claim, but the morons who read the blur rumour instantly claimed that "LOL THE MONITOR HAS BLUR, AVOID THIS! AND AMD AND USERS WITH THE MONITOR ARE LYING"

(I cant exactly remember the issue with the XF270HU, but its in this thread on this site, and even where its debunked and proved that it was bull**** all along)

Sigh.

Unless someone has the god damn product in hand and have used it for a long time -> the FINAL product! dont even begin to think you know anything. Thanks.

he didn't say anything

prototypes do change after months, they were gonna change the switches for example for the kone pure 2017, or should I call it konepure17 or kone pure owl eye, but maybe they never intended for it to have the same 20m as the emp in the first place , and you don't know for sure that the coating specifically had changed from a certain prototype

you are adamant nobody knows a thing then maybe you don't need to say anything either cus you are also, unless you want to claim that you are an roccat insider that has used all the prototypes for months all this time all the way to the latest production run and tested that too for months before it goes into customer hands?

if not you failed to refute a word I said and my point stands that the prototype pic is the only available reference there is for long term durability of "ze new roccat line of mice uv coating" in fact why am I even defending something I posted months ago? on right because I myself brought it up when I saw people were just giving an auto pass on the coating based on week deep impressions, DUH

now for solid resolution without waiting down the road,
try focus on inviting roccat to clarify the case if they are willing to at all

cheers

If not, does it not affect tracking accuracy negatively on soft mousepads, because the distance between the lense and the pad can vary easily?

No sensor ring skate. Used the EMP on a soft pad without issue. The variance if you were applying that much pressure would be so small it wouldn't affect your aim. I tried all these things I use to be worried about and they all appear to be non issues. I'd be more worried about a sensor skate increasing drag over dpi variance

Edit: I hope little kone here comes out in April and not may.

Waiting waiting, Kone pure series are the best of small mice and fingertip users.

I've got a question for Kone users here: I've been looking to replace my CM Storm Spawn with something a bit more modern and have been considering a Kone. My hand is roughly 17cm long and 10 cm wide and using tiny laptop mice and the Spawn itself over the years has left me with a weird "mostly claw" grip style (mouse 1 and 2 button fingers always curled; sometimes my palm butts up against the back of the mouse, sometimes I look down and notice that I'm only using my fingertips).

Do you thing a Kone variant would be a good fit for me?

I've messed around with a Deathadder and a G502 in stores and know I can't go back to a mouse that long because I don't think I can use pure palm style anymore - the Spawn's weird shape has ruined me for that. Only thing in store that felt close to right was the Razer Abyssus v2, but I want something with side buttons.

EDIT: If it makes any difference, I mostly play FPS and RTS games.

I would give one a try. It's a good shape and you can claw grip or hybrid grip or really whatever you want. It's pretty easy to put the back into your palm and then grip the front with your fingertips if that's what you are used to doing. With the deep groves its pretty easy to hold on to when you are gripping like that so you don't have to squeeze it very hard with your fingers if you want to pick it up off of the pad. If you have 17CM hands its pretty much the perfect size for you length wise.

Your hand size and grip seems to be the perfect fit for the Kone. I would also recommend you try the logitech G pro or g203 (this is what I use and I have similar grip with only slightly bigger hands than you).

g pro is, like i was told way more comfortable to claw than to fingertip. 17 cm might be a bit small for claw, i dont know, you have to try.
