Roccat Kone Pure Owl-Eye (2017) - 3361 - 88g - Page 7

Still has that silly little extension on the rmb that my ring finger catches on, real deal breaker for me.

Shame too because there was much about my KPM Black that I loved, dat scroll wheel...so good.

Hello,

happy to see that there is a lot of interest for the new Kone Pure. Something that might be also interesting for you is that we addressed the lens rattle issue, made the braided cable more flexible (Still might have a bit of shape due to the packaging) and the coating is now UV coating similar to the one we used with the new Kova. The new coating is more durable and smooth compared to the old rubber coating that we used on the old Kone Pure.

If you have further questions just leave them here and I try my best to answer them.

What extension are you talking about and how does it distract you?

So far the only disappointment is the release date. I'm sure Roccat needs a few quality control testers. Feel free to reach out to us, i'd be willing to do it for free rolleyes.gif.
That said, is the Uv coating similar to any of the mice you guys currently offer?

Not sure about the extension the person means, but for me there's this spot that feels a bit weird. Like some sort of raised block was put there. At least two of my Kone pure Military's had it.

Oh please, that's one of the best parts in this mouse, at least with 1-3-1 grip.

I always found it funny that KPM has probably the most stickiest surface for me, and at the same time some people say it's the most slippery mouse they have used. I can lift mine with only index+mid fingers on the buttons and gently squeezing it towards my palm, thumb+ring+pinkie not touching the sides at all biggrin.gif

Then again for example the DM1 PRO S coating is just something I can't grip at all. It feels like someone poured starch powder on it.

The highlighted "lip" catches my finger with its edge and interferes with right clicking sometimes or worse, results in accidental clicks.

Taking the G403 as an example since it's what I currently use, there is no way my ring finger will touch the RMB.

It looks like it'd be the same for the kone if the top shell carried on as a straight line instead of sticking out the way it does. I don't use photoshop otherwise I'd show what would look better.

EDIT: My best paint attempt to show what I'd personally prefer. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I palm-claw the mouse and that extension helps quite a bit, as my middle finger sits pretty much on it.

Well I only touch that red part if I intend to rest my hand in a palm grip. No problem using the mouse in 1-3-1 which I do since 1-3-1 fingertip I have more control over movement than with 1-2-1 but it does get fatiguing after hours and hours of gaming. It's a bit like trying 1-2-1 aggressive claw grip where you fatigue your hand within 2 hours.

Since you like that block part of the mouse I'd assume you use some sort of claw grip where back of your palm is on the mouse unless you have really long fingers. Don't see any other possible reason you could rest pinky on that block in 1-3-1 ;p

Glad to hear these improvements.

How about the mouse feet ?
My kpm have different mouse feet, one is higher than the other, this affect the glide.
