Roccat Kone Pure Owl-Eye (2017) - 3361 - 88g - Page 73

Not many stores in my area.

I don't care too much for the SS Rival but it is OK.

The G403 seems pretty nice in my hand.

G900 seems to be too low.

Razer Mamba is comfortable but the grip style is palm only for it and I am more of a hybrid Palm/Finger

Main mouse I am looking at is Zowie ZA12 right now.

Hi all,

Long time lurker here. Received my copy of this mouse from Amazon UK today and thought I'd share some thoughts.

Firstly, It feels a lot smaller than I was expecting even though I knew the dimensions. I have 19.5x10cm hands and can claw it but I wouldn't recommend it for people with bigger hands than mine. Aside from that I really like the shape and the coating. It's extremely comfortable.

The build quality is great. There's a very slight rattle when I shake it but it's barely noticeable. Definitely nothing I can hear during gaming or general use.

Sensor performance is excellent but bear in mind that it seems quite a bit faster than other mice. I had to lower my Overwatch sensitivity by around 7-8% to have the same cm/360.

The cable is my only gripe so far. It's braided and does get caught my my pad sometimes.

Overall I'm very impressed but will have to spend some time gaming over the next few days (for science of course) to see if it becomes my main mouse.

Quick comparison shot between the Kone Pure and the Zowie FK2:

How stiff are M1/M2, compared to say the G403/DA Elite?

That is due to most Zowie mice having lower cpi values than the advertised steps (my ZA had 382cpi on the 400cpi step). While the 3360/3366 is usually straight on it or slightly higher (g403 has spot on 400dpi and my Kone has 423cpi).

That is completely normal that the cpi differs, even between different mice of the same model.

Nice of you to provide a comparison picture, as most people are still confused. They think it is a Deathadder size palmgrip ergo mouse.

Mine feels similar to the G403.

Mine feels similar to the G403.

Hm , is your old Kone 423 cpi or the new one ? If its the new one can you tell me the steps at 800 and 1600 ?

I haven't used this specific model - but if you already love that mouse then this should be a direct improvement, if anything wait for it to be on your local amazon so you can return it if you feel it's not an upgrade - but it should be strictly better than the version you have

If the heavy back of the kpm bothers you its definitely an improvement.

If you are not sure, you should check it out in a shop.

For all those with a sample can you quote this post and confirm whether you have sensor rattle in this mouse or not? I have a slight rattle in my KPM Desert Strike but the sensor doesn't spin out. Think I'm just gonna wait until MicroCenter or Frys gets a batch rather than order from Amazon. Want to feel this thing in my hands before I buy

So mine just arrived.
So far everything seems fine, no rattle at all.
I installed Swarm, and it immediately asked me to install a firmware update for this mouse.
I must admit, I'm not quite sure what to make of the Swarm software. I really don't like the lighting effects on this, which is a pity.
Roccat, can you please make the color cycle smoother ? If this can do 16.8m colors, that for sure is possible.

I don't find the finish on it as grippy as the G400 or the G403. I'll see how I like it in games, because that's what matters.
Edit: And no, i don't agree that it feels cheap. FYI I think the Zowies have premium feeling finish, altough not really the most usable one. This feels different, but not cheap at all. Quite hard and durable.
