Think I'm just gonna wait until MicroCenter or Frys gets a batch rather than order from Amazon. Want to feel this thing in my hands before I buy

I have the kpm and there is sensor rattle, some more and some less, just like g303, but not that much, indeed I've tried to attach a piece of paper under then kpm and shake it, the result was the cursor not moving at all in desktop or in game. This new version of the kone pure doesn't have sensor rattle, but if you hear about ppl that are complaing about rattle, rest assure that it is not the sensor but the buttons or the scroll wheel cause of the first batch, which you want end up with since amazon now has the latest batch, which is rock solid.

Indeed. People hear something rattling and immediately assume it is the sensor/lens .

This is easily tested by setting the mouse to the highest cpi step, opening paint , applying black electrical tape on the sensor hole . Then hold mouse 1 and shake the mouse.

No sensor rattle. There is a very slight scroll rattle
DPI is a little bit off 400->421 , 800->815 , 1600 -> 1610

Please call it lens rattle. If the sensor rattled the mouse wouldn't even work biggrin.gif

Anyway if you didn't test taping up the hole (you don't need to press mouse1, just look at the pointer coordinates biggrin.gif)
please don't even mention lens rattle. (Not you specifically, anybody)

In case of KPM it's exactly the sensor rattle, as its bottom cover is rattling if you try shaking the PCB. That, in addition to the usual lens rattle.

the KPM doesn't have whatever you just said it has, it only has lense rattle.

There is no other weird loose part of the sensor to rattle. The KPM's sensor cover is black cloth, not plastic. There literally is no other part of the sensor assembly to rattle.

I could've said it wrong naming that part a 'cover', it's not the cloth cover obviously. It's the bottom part of the sensor's shell where the eye is, like on the left in this picture.

Looks like it could be opened, though I've never tried. Taping it or holding it down helps reducing the noise a bit, though I'm unsure if it's the part of the shell itself or something inside is rattling.

Didn't check specifically but as far as I remember the Rival also had a similar slight rattle.
