How To add Display color options Hue/Saturation etc back to the 16.12.2 Relive control panels and keep new features. No driver mod needed.

I originally posted this over at guru3d this morning, started looking at this morning from yet another post about these options missing now for months.

my post there: http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=5377617&postcount=1

his is a multi-step process but does not require any driver or registry modifications. This was built based on stuff I have read here over the years and trying to remember, so I am betting some of the smarter cookies will be able to simplify this process.

What I did was download the first drivers available for my new GPU RX 480 so I downloaded 16.6, you will also need Relive 16.12.2 and the latest DDU. (tested and working with 17.3.x and 17.4.1, and 17.4.2 drivers instead of 16.12.2

1. Ran DDU in Safe mode to start with clean slate.

2. Install Crimson 16.6

3. Reboot

4. Start Install Relive 16.12.2 (Or which newer drivers you choose) MUST CHOOSE CUSTOM INSTALL

4.a Un-check AMD Settings http://imgur.com/rrq97DB

5. Install Relive 16.12.2 and reboot.

6. Navigate to the AMD folder, usually C:\AMD, open the 16.12.2 (Or whichever newer drivers you used) Folder ( should be named Non-WHQL-Win10-64Bit-Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-16.12.2-Dec19), then packages, apps, CN, CNext, (64 bit here for me) so then cnext64, and finally

run ccc-next64 (windows installer)

7. reboot when finished

8. The old control panel should now have these other options and your Relive Control panel will now have all the options from 16.12.2

I was wondering where these settings went. Haven't had enough time to check up on why. Thanks for the info, I'll try it soon and see if it works for me.

DO not do this if you are using Insider build 15002 or the Relive driver dated Jan 3 that was released in 2017 it will seriously screw up your desktop I am not sure if it is one or the other or both together. I also do not have other windows version to test the jan 3 dated driver with.

I have no idea on Windows 7...worst case is you can try it and see...the issue with this method is either tied to some insider change or a change in the Relive driver 16.12.2 dated Jan 3 released on Jan 9th or both. I really do not know. Windows 10 insider builds are under going some under the hood WDDM changes currently.

I do not use them either but other do...so I figured out how to add them back for those who want or needed them. So if you do not use them or never used them...then you do not need them.

Found this https://vibrancegui.com/ very good piece of software and free !
Code:
Automating NVIDIAs Digitial Vibrance Control and AMDs Saturation for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Easy to use. VAC safe. Lightweight.

This is also nice and Geobased, better for you eyes @ night https://justgetflux.com/
Code:
f.lux fixes this: it makes the color of your computer's display adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day.
Ever notice how people texting at night have that eerie blue glow?

Or wake up ready to write down the Next Great Idea, and get blinded by your computer screen?

During the day, computer screens look good—they're designed to look like the sun. But, at 9PM, 10PM, or 3AM, you probably shouldn't be looking at the sun.

Really the not sure what your asking...you mean check for updates? Never let windows update your gpu drivers. If you do not choose custom install it will overwrite the amd settings and remove these options from addition preferences.

I just did it again to test this method with the 17.3.3 drivers and latest Win 10 insider build aka the Creators Update 15063.0

And had no issue, in fact was able to eliminate a step.

When I originally did this I had to use the 16.12.2 drivers as either one of the 17 or my Win 10 insider build did not work.
