I hope some manufacturers announce proper overkill (even E-ATX) overclocking boards sooner rather than later. I seriously need an upgrade (Q6600@3GHz), but as my financial situation doesn't really allow for frequent upgrades I want a good platform to last a few years. A rock solid VRM, perhaps some voltage measurement points to play around with, preferably just two DIMM slots. I don't care so much about the on-board audio, "gamer this, gaming that" features, RGB lighting and so on. One can keep wishing, it's still early.
