No need for 60, 24 fps is the golden cinematic standard.

What W10 % of scaling are you using in the first picture?
We have not heard from Baasha since he posed those fateful pictures. I fear the 8K has swallowed Baasha into its world....a digital world full of laser motorcycles and death sport. A place of intrigue, romance and seat of the pants action! Hopefully he can interact with friendly AI who may help him plan his escape so that he may be able to post some updates about gargantua.

LOL.. if they were using DSC I would get 2 more and do 8K Surround but since each monitor requires 2x DP 1.4 cables to run 8K @ 60Hz, it is not possible. So "only" one 8K for now. biggrin.gif

impressions further below....

So what's your first impression if you could only keep one, this or the 4K OLED monitor? Hopefully you dont still call the near-300 dpi horrid tongue.gif

"Recommended" is 300% but I use 200% since I like it.

hahahah.. almost true.. this thing is gorgeous - will be doing a full review of it soon. The fit and finish are amazing as well.

IMPRESSIONS:

I've had this panel for just over a day so take my comments with a grain of salt.

The 8K image is stupendous - it is so crisp and clear that I have never seen anything so sharp and beautiful. Gaming on it is absolutely fantastic - the main rig crushes most games and goes well beyond 60fps so it's buttery smooth and great to look at. It is a glossy screen and bezel is nice and thin. The buttons are on the bottom - the fit and finish is superb.

This is a great monitor for content-creation - which I will be doing quite a bit of, as well as gaming. For gaming purposes, if you're considering this monitor and plan to use it at 8K 60Hz (doh!), two Titan Xp will NOT cut it - getting even 30fps in newer games will be challenging. 8K is 33.2MP which is 16x 1080P or 4x 4K.

Some things I noticed: there is some backlight-bleed on the lower left of the monitor - irritating when there is a complete black background but unnoticeable otherwise. This panel is pixel-perfect - ran through the LCD screen tests and not a single dead/stuck pixel so I'm stoked.

An interesting note - a family member of mine came into my room and saw the 4K OLED and the 8K monitor - both were on. She instantly said she loved the OLED! lol.. I'm predisposed to liking the 8K simply for the resolution but if all else were the same, I too think the OLED image is much better.

I need an 8K OLED monitor NOW! biggrin.giftongue.gif

Thats alot of pixels, thanks for the update. I think my dream display would be 40" 8k 60hz OLED that also allowed 4k 120hz + Gsync for good measure thumb.gif

You gonna keep the Dell OLED and 8k or are you gonna send one back?

If you're connecting this to multiple video cards, and each video card has 3x DP 1.4, can't you hook up 1 to the first video card, the 2nd to the second video card, the 3rd to the third video card, and the 4th to the 4th video card? Then put them in a grid to get 16k resolution smile.gif

The manual also says you can connect one DP 1.4 cable to run 8K @ 30Hz, so you could have a second up3218k on your video card if the second monitor is only 30Hz. Or, you could get a high end Quadro gpu that has 4x DP 1.4 from one card.
