Can't wait to try out the ROG IX APEX. It has a really cool new overclocking feature called the RSVD switch which allows you to bench cold boot bug free with most cpus, OC Guide explains it better.

Have a lot more to add to the OP but wanted to get the thread up since the boards are out.

oh that sucks, a lot of storms today, maybe that's why.

I grabbed my 7700k from microcenter last night. Just waiting for board now. Gonna try a little overclocking on my m 8 extreme to see how chip is, until my z270 board comes.

I got my delayed M.2 and got everything put together and installed on Saturday. So far, so good. I haven't tried pushing it yet, just doing an XMP overclock so far at 4.6Ghz and stable. I'm definitely thinking I might have to look into a custom loop again. I've been using a Corsair H110 for a couple of years with my old proc but this new one is definitely running a lot hotter.

Anyway, quick specs:

Asus Maximus IX Formula
i7-7700K @ 4.6GHZ
G.Skill 32GB 4x8GB DDR4 3400
Samsung 960 EVO 1TB M.2
2x EVGA GTX 1080 FTW Hybrids

Go ahead and add me to the owner list..

Ya I go to the one on long island, it had a couple. We are lucky, we have like 5 within driving distance. Hopefully I will have the Apex this week.

Looks really nice. You could try delidding and might not have to go custom, will help temps and save some money, there are some really safe cheap tools now.

I used the Rockit cool delidding tool on my 7700K night before last, worked really well. gained 100mhz stable while dropping about 20 degrees using an AIO, and less voltage needed, setting on my M8E until my Z-270 board arrives, also ordered the 4266 Gskill kit

Ya I have the rockit cool also, he also sent me a relidder but havent tried it yet. It works great.; I wanted a delid die mate but they were out of stock and shipping is really fast and cheap for USA and the rockit cool.

wow didnt see that 4266 kit yet, I have the 4133 kit but might have to grab a 4266 for new platform. Every color is sold out right now.

Anyone get there boards yet, excited to see some benches and builds

I think my IX hero will arrive tomorrow with 7700k but it's kinda useless as I don't have memory for it yet. I'm waiting for more G.Skill trident RAMs to get in shops, so I can order them.
Is it possible to boot in BIOS without RAM? Would be nice to look at all the many options in there till I get my RAM.

Hi man i'm Marco from Italy.

I have my new MAXIMUS IX CODE with 7700k@4900 1.232v.
At this core clock i can enter in os @5ghz and use windows..but not IBT (inter burning test).
Now, my mobo had 0224 bios....what's it?
I see in asus site there is only 0701...
This 0224 is really stable and cpu need really low voltage.
I'm afraid to update it since I find no trace to an online copy ... if 0701 went worse I can not go back ....
What i can do?
Thx in advance.

I had it listed in the OP and saw it around the net but the dimm.2 slot is a ddr4 slot not ddr3. But the board comes with compatible extension so I dont think it changes much, just pinout
