[OFFICIAL] ASUS Z270 ROG IX SERIES OWNER'S THREAD - Page 56

I just updated to 1203v BIOS and now I cannot open AI Suite 3, I even tried to reinstall it but no luck.
Any tips how can I get it working again? It's important for me as I use it for fan controlling.

Yea, I ended up installing it. Looks like it works fine, but I lost my fan profiles which I tried to save as it is such a hassle to get the fan speeds just right.
Best method I've come up with is to take screenshots of the curves and save them. Didn't remember this time tho.

Windows Update is atm installing 1709 update, will see if it works after that.

Recall carrying out somw Crystal Disk benchmark test in 2017. This was way before Intel messed up with IME and now with Meltdown/Spectre. When I have some time, I'll redo the tests, since I've done both the BIOS and Windows 10 updates. Will then compare the new test results with the original bench tests to see if there's been any performance impact.

I find some odd stuff when AVX has a value. i add a negative 3 and when i run windows, like chrome or other programs it the core drops. even with speedstep and c states on or off. When AVX is 0 the cores are consistent wit the OC of 5. i did have to give more volts. Windows add AVX? Also with AVX 3 score higher in cinebench. and lower in with avx 0. I did not test cinebench with AVX0 with the new volts 1.330. and cpz is readding ok I wish that cpuz add vcore aside of VIDvolt

I had some problems where my PC wouldn't post, kept going into recovery and then finally just wouldn't even go past the post screen.
Not sure what started the problem.

I decided to go back to 8,1.

I ran AS SSD and my 4k writes have gone to 195+ on both drives but i did stop the patches from downloading and i put the old bios back on,so old microcode.

This is weird.I was using the 1010 bios on my Asus Apex and saved my overclocks to txt files and flashed the new 1203 bios and all went well.I then went and put in my oc that was saved on a txt file.Hit f10 to save and reboot, she rebooted and froze on the windows 10 screen just before the desktop.I cleared cmos and tried again with same oc and this time she booted to the desktop ok.I later shut the pc down for a hr or two turned it back on and now same thing thing, its locking up just before windows 10 desktop screen and even in the bios she locks up too.I reflashed back to 1010 and all my saved overclocks are working fine like they have been for the past 3/4 months.Wonder what this 1203 bios does not like about my overclocks. On optimized defaults its fine, but with any oc she goes funky on 1203 and on 1010 bios shes smoking.

There is new AI Suite version for Hero, 3.00.13 thumb.gif. I guess it's basicly same as 3.00.10 beta version. I will try it out later.

If your PC wouldn't POST, there's a deeper issue with the BIOS and this needs further investigation/assistance from Asus.

I can confirm there's been an impact to Crystal Disk benchmark results with the new BIOS (1203) and latest build from Microsoft on Windows 10 (build # 16299). Whilst the numbers look pretty bad, the impact to everyday use isn't noticeable. Below are screen capture results. The lower numbers represent the BIOS and Windows 10 update.
