You may be right about that but I shudder to think what is really under the hood of that steaming pile of supposed VR ready PC. From what I have seen with these BB/CyberpowerPC specials the PSU will be a very cheap OEM one that CyberpowerPC self branded which are notorious for blowing up, the mobo will be the lowest end 760G chipset one they can find with no OCing potential, the RAM will be unbranded without a heatsink & the lowest speed DDR3 available, the CPU will have a old stock AMD cooler, the case will be very cheap & made of very thin sheet metal. Basically IME companies like CyberpowerPC cut all the corners & only provide the lowest end parts to keep costs that low. You get a ticking time bomb not a gaming PC with them IMHO. Also there is the fact that you can not buy this PC for that price by itself, it has to be bought as part of a package that includes the Rift to get that discount & the total cost is $1,250.00. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/oculus-rift-virtual-reality-headset-cyberpowerpc-gamer-ultra-vr-guavr3000b1-desktop-package/9999277100050000.p?skuId=9999277100050000&ref=199&loc=kXQk6*ivFEQ&acampID=1&siteID=kXQk6.ivFEQ-Bsxre2tTtUEapGyizKhHBA

It has been noted that Phenom 2 was not-quite-but-still-approximately as fast per clock as Core 2 processors. It has also been noted that Piledriver is about as fast per clock as Phenom 2. My guess would be that they would be comparable in single threaded tasks with the 4350 taking about a 20% hit under high-utilization multithreaded scenarios.

Isn't that what dell, hp and others do?

All that matters is that the PC works as intended

I can see people buying this bundle just for the VR headset, then giving the rig to their younger sibling or cousin so they have something to play on.

Lol, if the $499 came with this PC and a VR headset I'd order it right now. The $500 is supposed to be a deal if you buy it along with the Oculus headset.

Just another run of the mill pre-built for people who haven't learned what happens when you run computers on 30 cent power supplies.

Granted, I do all of my gaming on my FX 4350 + HD7950 happily still to this day, it's not as horrible as people make out, all of my games run 60 FPS at 1080P, only some need mildly dialed back settings like GTA5 or TW3. biggrin.gif

Also, the amount of times in my life this VR hype has come and gone... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfHMSqQKg6s&index=3&list=PLR6RS8PTcoXTjJLrdJ8oHiK5nxfitLtvu

Terrible, for that price you should at least get an FX-8320. Does this even come with a copy of Windows? Could build that system with an FX-8320 & SSD for $300.
