Yeah he's an excellent seller but only has WMO's right now. I assume OP means IMO 1.1a? They are much harder to find than IME 3.0's even on ebay.
I've only bought one IMO 1.1 off ebay used from the US, so that's a good place to start. It was legit and in great condition, and they usually provide good pictures of the bottom, but generally tried to avoid eBay where possible. Ones that claim to be original or even in the box from China I would not trust. I trust the custom paint versions more than them, as they are most likely original internal with a refurbished shell and fresh mouse feet.
I have 11 mlt04 mice, 6 i got through local sites (4 of which were legit ones still sealed in original packaging), and 4 from takasta. Every now and then you come across them on these sites. I suggest looking there first before eBay. Always been suspicious of Chinese sellers that all seem to use the same images/descriptions..
Is steelseries edition of IMO 1.1a a good idea? I can buy one but price is quite high. I can see that coating is different but not sure about other things.
Same thing with the IE 3.0's, most likely refurbished originals. Do you have a link? would help if we could see pictures of it and some other details about the seller
Any online purchase is always a risk. Why would you want to buy one today? Your old one died? There are plenty more up to date mice of similar shape. Sadly the same can't be said about IE3.0 which is still one of the largest decent mice ever made.
For IE3.0 the code starts with X80, the other versions are some older slower or something.
Local shops even online are often more reliable as it's a personal sale rather than a mass online sale on ebay, aliexpress, etc.
I did not like the IO 1.1, the side buttons are huge and soft, gets in the way.
Maybe try asking some friends, many people may have had the mouse but replace it with something high sens and blinky lights.
It is on local shop in different language unfortunately. Why do I want it? Because of shape. Over the course of few years I swapped mices from every company constantly. One thing I learned is that shape is far more important than anything else. I had zowie fk, am, sensei and many other mices and none of them gave me the comfort and grip of IMO 1.1a. I don't care how outdated it is and how ugly it looks. I just want my mice to be an extension of my hand which this shape allows me to feel this way.
If the link has picture would still be helpful to see it. If it's local, I'd definitely be more trusting of it, but as said earlier, there will always be a risk with these mice. If you don't care too much about the condition, and you're willing to put in some effort, you could try asking around at local businesses. They were pretty common in the office, and sometimes at point of sale computers. I still see heaps of IMO and WMO's around today.
I got one originally 1.1 Optical, i am also willing to sell it, its in a new condition. The problem is that the fees a for sending it outside Germany are pretty High.
I bought first ZOWIE AM from german shop, cause it wasn't avaliable in Poland. Shippment was something around 8 euros from what I remember. I am willing to pay reasonable price for shippment if mouse is in good condition. We will take a look If you could provide some pictures.
This is the link to the local shop that supposedly has new Microsoft mices which is kinda suspicious.
I've yet to find anything as accurate or comfortable as the 1.1, after my last one broke in ~2013, and I gave up trying to find a replacement as majority of the online ones are fakes. That mouse with Hyperglidez, on a QcK+, was unbelievable.
I have been using updated versions of the original Zowie FK (original, 2013, FK2, etc) since then. It's still no 1.1, but it is the best shape for me out of everything currently *easily* available on the market.
That one is an X08, so here's a pic of my X08 version for reference. The mouse skates are aftermarket ones, so don't worry about that. They were the same ****ty skates originally
(sorry about the rotation!!!)
Here's what I can tell you from my experience. The X08 is a slightly older version. These one's have some different markings/logo's on the bottom sticker from the most recent revisions. The X80 (the last ones made before they were discontinued. someone correct me if I'm wrong) version's have a slightly different USB connector as well. You can see the two metal tabs that fold up at the front there, and it is also black on the inside of the X08 (and possibly the X06, but I don't have any to check). They are gone on the X80 versions. That is a way to tell if one is fake. If the USB connector style does not match the product number.
X08 Connector
X80 connector. As you can see, no metal tabs folding up, and it's white
The one you linked is most likely legit, but as with many IMO's, the shell looks pretty yellow from what I can see in the pic. As for the Steelseries one's from your local shop, it's hard to say as they only have one picture. Maybe you could try asking them to send you some more detailed pictures of the actual product?
Are you guys talking about these? Man, we used to have HUNDREDS of these lying around at the computer company I work for. Probably somewhere off in the warehouse still tbh. Most of them were used for us employees. Stopped using it a few months ago, but still works fine. Thing has to be ancient.
Edit: Just realized that this is a Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1A, whoops.

You should definitely try gathering them up and posting them on ebay or something if you can! I'm sure a lot of people would love to stock up on the WMO'S or even try it for their first time.
the description on 2nd one is same as in this one Click I'm no expert when it comes to these.. but I suppose they're all legit? Just shipping might take over a month depending where you live
even though its listed as IO 1.1 I got a pretty genuine looking WMO, new, with sensor performance on mouse tester, paint draw test and in game performance as expected.
Takatsa has pretty nice looking Steelseries mods - I have one of those as well (white matte) and the texture feels great in my hand and is of course a genuine MLT04 sensor.
Of course I'm not affiliated with any of the above.
If you really want a NEW 100% legit microsoft mouse, either get a NIB one, or the IE 3.0 legends editions, but they cost $50.
That should usually be the case, but it's hard to find who are the legit sources. Especially since stock has to be running low these days, even refurbished ones. I guess not many people want to take the risk. The first IE3.0 I got was from aliexpress, and it was fake. I have stayed away and been more thorough since, and I've had a perfect run of legit mlt04 mice. I might just order one or two from this aliexpress seller to open them up and find out for certain. They seem to have a lot of variants of the IMO and the IE3.0, so if they are legit, would be good for other intellimouse fans to know of another trustworthy source, besides takasta of course.
edit: had a quick look through the feedback for all their listings, they seem to be legit. gonna put an order down for one soon. i'll be the shipping takes forever tho
Looks like it comes with an STD. I'd avoid and get a new-er one.
