Are the controls re-mappable on the PC? Did they get rid of the mandatory letterboxing?

I'm in the early stages, graphics have improved a lot over the old one, there are some jump scares, but overall not so scary, many disturbing sights though.

I'm looking for scary games too.
I've played these are they are just meh (in terms of scariness):
-FEAR
-Doom (all series)
-Resident Evil (latest Remastered edition)
-Bioshock
-Silent Hill 4: The Room
-Dead Space 2

I don't want a game that is extremely difficult (most japanese games are just tough puzzle).

All of those except for Silent Hill 4 and Resident Evil remastered are just action shooters, so that explains why you didn't find them scary.

Play SOMA, Penumbra, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Anna: Extended Edition, and Underhell which is free although only a few hours of it will seem scary to you (the first few hours and then a few more later on).

If you liked the first one, you'll probably like this one as well. Again, it's fairly short....hopefully there's some DLC stuff later on.
