I imagine Gabe Newell spent much of last week with his ears burning following Game Informer's interview with an alleged anonymous Valve employee. The source, whose opinions interviewer Andrew Reiner was unable to verify, suggested Half-Life 3 did not exist, has never existed and probably won't ever exist-the same applying to Half-Life 2: Episode 3. Tomorrow the world has the chance to hear it straight from the horse's mouth as Gabe Newell has agreed to host a Reddit AMA.

At 3pm PT/11pm GMT tomorrow (January 17), Newell will appear on The Gaben subreddit as confirmed first by the subreddit's moderator Jedi Burrell and again by the Steam subreddit's R3TR1X.
Source.

Having an AMA announced just a day before, on the 17th?

I'm not going to say the sentence because it's already echoing in your heads by now.

Update: PC Gamer is doing a follow-up article with the important stuff that is coming out of the AMA. It's being updated, so check it from time to time:

It'll be a VR title where you play as one of the Black Mesa administration staff.

Making a total mess of the office, using everything from portals, physics, murderous robots and so on.. During the ensuing chaos, you somehow cause the events that occur in the beginning of "Half-Life".

Or you could simply be the G-man, constantly fixing your tie.

it is more likely to have Half-life 1 & 2 remake using new vulkan engine than half life 3.

Or like in real life VR, you just take a piece of furniture to the knee and in pain and anger hit the wrong button.

Valve just made the prequel based on the above during the weekend.

I would not be disappointed with that. I can play HL2 10 times a year, every year, and not be even remotely bored with it. It'd be awesome to see a redux. Although, knowing valve, it would probably look exactly the same.

It would be funny if every single person asked that and nothing else.

The AMA would turn into an IWRTN (I will respond to nothing).

But seriously, they are literally asking for it.

City 17, AMA on the 17th.

Half-Life 2: Episode 3 / Half-Life 3, start the AMA at 3 PM.

""With the Half Life series being an utter disappointment for gamers and an embarrassment for the company, it was probably a good decision not to continue with the awful story that left on a cliffhanger. A non-ending is generally universally acknowledged as the perfect ending for games such as this. So for that you have my sincere admiration, sir. Can we hopefully not expect anything but the godly gaming platform/service you are and always will be, forever and ever providing us gamers with sweet deals and easy downloading along with the piece of mind of your Iron Clad VAT system? Hopefully you can give a clear answer about not continuing your little ""experiment"" in making games and give gamers what they really want with sweet trading cards, hats!, and action packed Dota events!!!"

Thank you Gabe,

Love,

It's going to be a VR Title where you play POV headcrab.

What do you mean?

African or European swallow?

Half-life 4 finally confirmed?

We're not worthy of such a masterpiece.
