Best G-sync Monitor for $500?

I moved to California and had my PC shipped to me. I am looking to get a monitor but unsure of which to get. I picked up a S2716DG the other day and couldn't stand the buzz noise it made. Was disappointed since it had no dead pixels.

Anyone know if the S2417DG makes a noise?

Beside Dell which other monitors do you guys suggest?

Well, the Acer Predator version is supposed to be under 500$. Same goes for the AOC version of the same 24" 1440p G-Sync display. I'm not really sure why these are being marked up so much.

I have the XB270HU and it's pretty good. I don't love the IPS glow or the 100hz limit on ULMB or the shiny bezel. I also hear the 2.1 gamma setting closer to 2.5 but I have no way of testing. That said I could never go back to regular refresh, G-Sync is amazing. Supposedly the newer 271 model allows for 120hz ULMB and 165hz refresh.

I am very interested in the 240hz units, early reports are very positive.

I do have a nVidia card and am planning the switch to an AMD Vega card. I've been using nVidia cards since 2009 and they have treated me well. I was able to pick this IPS 144hz 1440p monitor up for $420

I kinda regret not holding out and getting the Acer freesync XF270HUA which has a freesync range of 40-144hz while this one is 35-90Hz or getting a monitor with HDMI 2.0 that supports freesync incase the Xbox One scorpio supports it.

I also don't play FPS games so even if I didn't utilize Freesync I wouldn't notice any tearing or ghosting in the games I play. This monitor doesn't have light bleed and the IPS glow isn't bad at all. It's nice actually being able to see blacks instead of grainy artifacts.
