Hey guys, think this is my first thread here but having a issue that shouldn't even be a serious one but I been working/googling past 3 hours and nothing can seem to fix my issue, so ill explain what happened below.
So I upgraded my GPU and I forgot that when I unplug the pc completely that I have to resync my headset to the amp which I'm using pair of a50 astros and a sound blaster z card. Well I didn't know that was the issue so I had uninstalled the drivers for the sound card and reinstalled and some where along the line when installing and reinstalling multiple times the cinematic tab in the control panel for z blaster disappeared and once I realized that the issue was simply a resyncing of the headset and amp back together since there wireless I was like oh I just need to reenable the dolby digital in sound blaster panel but....the tab is missing now...and ive tried everything to get it back, older drivers, plenty of restarts and reinstalls, registry cleaners and I simply have no clue why the cinematic tab is missing.
i see all those tabs except the cinematic one for some unknown reason now, tried PAX drivers too and ya idk, lost, only thing i know to do is reinstall windows which im backing up stuff now to try to do later.
Just an FYI headbanging with you tonight. My Sager Laptop uses the SB utility and doesn't show Cinematic Tab. The laptop uses a 980M GPU which does not have HDMI playback in the GPU.
I had this problem as well with Windows 10 and the drivers from 3rd of Mars 2017. Performing this procedure fixed my problem. No reinstall of O/S was required!
After upgrade to a AMD/Ryzen 1700 configuration, I've had problems with the DTS/Dolby Surround encoder cutting off after a few hours (setting it to "no encoder" and back again re-enables the encoder). Never had this problem om my old machine before. It will be interesting to see if this actually may help with this problem as well.
Sorry to bump this old thread but I had the same problem after replacing my motherboard, Cinematic tab disappeared in SB control panel (searched Google for a solution and ended up here among other places, but this thread is far more recent).
I tried uninstalling DTS Connect Pack and Dolby Digital Live Pack from Add Or Remove Programs, but it gave me an error saying it couldn't find the specified module. Here's how I fixed it:
1 - Opened regedit and search registry for Dolby Digital Live Pack and DTS Connect Pack - deleted them all (if you do this ONLY delete what says exactly "Dolby Digital Live Pack" and "DTS Connect Pack" and NOTHING ELSE that might otherwise include Dolby or DTS in it). At this point, both Dolby Digital Live Pack and DTS Connect Pack were both gone from Add Or Remove programs list.
2 - Uninstalled Soundblaster Z software, restarted.
3 - Reinstalled Soundblaster Z software, restarted again (if you get the error no supported device found, restart again and re-try installing the software).
After that I had the cinematic tab back, but there was only sound in the SB control panel, everywhere else had no sound. Opened "Playback Devices" under Windows Sound options and SPDIF was selected as default. Selected speakers instead and that fixed the sound issue.
If anyone else out there is having this same issue, I hope this helps.
