Never managed to see one on sale in any major EU online retailer, is a total no-show for now.
Have even recently wrote to ASUS directly to know availability, but no answer. Tells quite a lot on the Company's attitude versus the product...
Popol, on which Italian site did you manage to get it?
You can order it here : monclick.it / monclick.fr , original price 800€, you can apply this coupon for 8% discount : L719-1J02-0X6Y.
I think they ship everywhere in Europe, I have already ordered 1 monitor from France and the service was good (phone calls service, delivery in 1 day with TNT express).
I still have a backorder of the C34F791 from Amazon at 900€. But with all issues (dead pixels, freesync flickering, ghosting...) I didn't expect to have a 0 issue Sammy monitor. This ASUS looks as great as the C34F791 so I will give it a try.

That's way too expensive, I can find it here in Portugal for 810€, with shipping costs included. Damn, what to do now, keep the order for the CF791 or jump ship to this one?
PS: I see no Freesync reference anywhere on the Asus webpage.
The problem for me is that there isn't any "serious" review by a trustworthy source of neither the Sammy or the Asus yet.
Before splashing 800-900€ in a display I'd like at least to see some real tests of it. It's true it can be returned, but still quite the fuss at that point..
For now Amazon.it is not even listing the Sammy nor the Asus, while on Amazon.de the Sammy is more than 1.000€ (still too much IMHO)
Yeah right, the F791 has 1500R curvature.
Could indeed be the Microboard one (always manufactured by Samsung by the way), so now I have to read 97 pages of related thread I guess...

Yeah it is probably using the same panel as the Microboard/Crossover.
These are all 8-bit panels - all Samsung 34'' VA ones and the upcoming AUO 35'' and 31.5'' VA also seem to be going to be 8-bit only.
To me this seems like an unnecessary stagnation.
Won't be good for any future HDR versions either - they'll have to make new panels for that, at least with dithered 10 bits.
If you want 8bit+FRC ultrawide you have to get one with IPS panel.
Yeah, quite strange indeed, especially considering that 8bit+FRC seems to work quite well in simulating 10bits and shouldn't add too much to the cost (for example the massive Philips BDM4037UW has it and is a VA panel).
The omission is especially puzzling in the F791, considering the premium price at which is currently sold..

You are right it could be the panel of the microboard M340CLZ because it's the same curve, same contrast, exactly same display viewing area and view angle.
that would be quite the "microboard killer", then. Similar price, but you can actually buy it in a real shop and not play the stupid gambling game
What I find strange is the super-quiet release. CF791 has been hyped for months, and this Asus monitor... just appeared out of nowhere.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
