thanks, but have my mind set on 480, leaning to a 8gb version, just not sure what brand, reviews are up and down often

Sounds great to me! I am seeing right around the $200 mark for the used market. smile.gif

8Gb 480 will last a while, especially if you use a 1080p monitor.
Really 8Gb is overkill for 1080p but gives you the flexibility to go with multiple monitors or upgrade to 1440p in the near future.

The 470 is actually at a very sweet spot right now. Also available in 4Gb and 8Gb, and performance is far closer to the RX 480 than the 1050 is to the 1060, for a very attractive price thumb.gif

MSI make one of the best 480 coolers, Twin Frozr mark six however I've had issues with both my first and its replacement.

They'll all be very good, and all be a massive upgrade over a 2Gb 370.

Have you considered a 4Gb RX 480? What resolution is your monitor?

Oooo, both the XFX and the Asus offer $30 rebates if you're into that. Otherwise it almost looks like they are priced according to their factory overclocks. smile.gif

Do you like pretty lights? The asus seems to have that feature.

But the XFX promises you an extra fan it seems? Hmmm...

i was thinking of getting the 4gb versions mainly because it's cheaper, but don't want to have to buy a new card for like 3 years, thats why was going for the 8gb. screen res is 1080p for now, but would like the option of going higher if the card would allow me to.

the lights don't care about, i have led fans and don't even see them unless i look at the window side of case, the xfx gtr seems to be a good card from what some reviews say, but cost more seems.

His is also very good. http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story5&reid=185

I suppose I understand. smile.gif I have always viewed a system as being a moldable changeable thing though. O I was thinking of viewing a power supply in terms of the upper limit of what my system could be, not necessarily what it is. smile.gif That does hurt the budget a bit though.

been trying to find out how much more the 8gb would help gaming, but so far seems some say that the 4gb is about as good as the 8gb, so wondering if the 8gb would be worth it still or just geting the 4gb
