Cougar has made some mediocre peripherials in the past, their build quality isn't quite the best, but they offer most of their stuff on a budget.
Now this mousepad, the Cougar Speed 2 is pretty damn cool. It comes in four different sizes, all of them has a thickness of 5 millimeters.

On their website the surface looks really rough and uncomfortable but in reality it's really really smooth and doesn't irritate my skin at all.
The large version (450 x 400 x 5 mm) has only costed me 17 USD inc. shipping from a local seller here in Hungary. A large Goliathus costs around twice this price plus the shipping, and I don't even mention the G-TFX... So yeah, it's pretty damn cheap for what it gives.
But what does it give really?
- The glide is really smooth and fast, the friction is very low with stock Zowie feet. With my PTFE feet mice, it's even less (my MX300 is pretty much uncontrollable on this pad).
- It's thick. I love thick pads. However, it doesn't really want to lay flat. After a day it's pretty much the same as when I first took it out of the box. Wrinkles, uneven areas everywhere (but the surface is not damaged). I'm not sure how long will it take to lay this thing flat completely. It doesn't bother me in games that much tho (I'm playing CS:GO on a low sensitivity - 58 cm / 360°).
- The logo is printed, it's not raised at all and it sits in a corner. Perfect.
- The stitched edge is also pretty smooth, it didn't irritate my arms so far at all.
- It doesn't grip the table too much, but it doesn't move around at all. It'll probably stick to the surface better after it lays down flat completely (let's hope that's actually gonna happen.
- They claim it to be water resistant, so it probably doesn't absorb as much sweat as other cloth pads do - I don't know this for sure yet.
Would I recommend this mousepad? Yes, if it ever lays flat properly. The price/value ratio is really good, compared to other big brands' mousepads out there.
There's also a Control 2, with the same specifications as the Speed 2.
And there are non-stiched edge and 4 mm thick versions of these two, simply called Speed and Control. And they have a bunch of other pads in general.
