Screen: Quantum Dot panel, AMVA+ w/LED backlight, sRGB 100%

Release date: March 12, 2017

I am very excited as I was waiting for Q1 Acer X34p but they moved it to 2018....

And then BUM! HP comes out with what what I wanted with additional AMVA panel and minimalistic design.

What do you guys think? Intersted? Keeping eye on? I am definitely interested in buying this one, unless better UW will be announced before March.

I pre-ordered mine on Amazon and it initially had a release date of Feb 1st, but now says "Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date."

I'll be coming off of a surround setup(3X Samsung PX2370) that I've had since I was running a tri-fire 5870 setup back in the day. It's kind of crazy that I'm ditching this monitor setup right when I have the horsepower to finally run them properly (1080 SLI). Hell, my OG Titans struggled with this resolution.

I really like the look of of this monitor though! IMO, one of the most aesthetic looking monitors on the market. I was going to pull the trigger on the Predator or Asus monitors, but I really did not want to deal with the light bleed issues. Looking forward to GSYNC as well!

Sadly no UW annouced with HDR yet

. I wish for 1440p 144hz 38" UltraWide with G-sync and HDR.....

Or if Vega will kick ass- FreeSync version.

But AS RIGHT now- this HP one is best spec wise UW on market.

Best right now? Without a single hands on review? Ok....

There is a good chance this VA panel may have the same issues the Z35 have. If that is the case, the X34 and pg348q will still hold that #1 spot. As bad as the IPS panels are with QC and glow/blb... I would rather take that over a VA panel with ghosting, smearing, etc. Not to mention it's starting to come to light that the 100Hz isn't native like everyone is thinking. It still needs an OC to achieve.

Wait for a reviews.

I said "SPEC WISE". Hold your horses, I always wait for reviews for everything. But "SPEC WISE" it has everything you'd want UW to have and has much better design imo than PG and X34. It actually looks like nice pice of hardware, and not like toy.

And again, as I said, I am interested if nothing better comes out. I hope we can see some better UWs announced in next month, two.

Theres a few hands on floating around. Its a 100hz native and only 60hz if using onr of the connections thats limiting.

What i like is the look, the immersive lighting (with different colors) one of the thinnest bezels and includes gsync as an ultrawide. So far this is my favorite ultra wide, but im still looking at them and dont have a budget for my setup

Any eta on a release date? I am considering selling my acer z35 and moving to this.

I wish it was at least 120hz but 100hz gsync will do.

Same here,

I've heard that this may contain Quantum dot, is this true? This is the monitor I'm actually leaning towards currently.... but I've heard HDR is right around the corner and I'm afraid I'll invest into a $1300 monitor to just see that it's blown away 3 months later. I know you can never keep up with technology, but there usually is some sort of time frame, especially in the monitor industry where things aren't exactly "bleeding edge" for a while.

Like 2560x1440 to 4K or how Ultrawide became super popular. I'd just hate to see these 144hz Gsync 4K + HDR and stuff on the market, while being curved mind you for the same price I paid for a lesser model Omen X.

No. Quantum dot will not appear in an AU Optronics panel.

Why not AOC? Same panel, 400$ cheaper.

and you honestly believe that the same companies that sell crappy LCDs with abysmal QC for 1300$ will sell you a 144hz Gsync 4K HDR screen for less than 2500-3000 $?
