As long as you check that "use Windows display calibration" box in the Advanced tab in the "Change System Defaults" color management window, then it should definitely apply. Took me a bit to figure that piece out.

I'm running into an issue trying to apply that profile because it doesn't list the OMEN X 35 in the display drop-downs...

I think it might be due to the monitor showing as a PnP monitor in Device Manager.

I've been searching for drivers, but can't find anything; does anybody know if there are any out there?

Well wanna give my last post in this thread, I decided to take me a nice 3hr drive to a micro center and pick me up a AOC AGON. For the price difference in the monitors and the claim of same panel I thought it was def worth checking out. MicroCenter $849.99 vs HP OMEN X35 $1299 + Taxes on both. If the price had been within $100-200 I prolly wouldn't have mess with it but for the price difference I wanted to give it a try.

APPEARANCE: Lets start with the AOC def has the unfortunate gamer look to it, which to be fair most of the silly look is behind the monitor and lets face it how many of us actually see the back I know with some desk setups u do but mine does not. The AOC does have a shiny gloss black bezel around it and a bright silver base. The base isn't as bad as the X34 or PG348Q but it is no OMEN, the OMEN had one of the best stands in just the aspect that it put the monitor the furthest from the user and took the least amount of desk space up. The bottom bezel LEDS can be chosen between 3 different colors NO RGB just and can be completely turned off. The AOC has its model number on the top right of the bezel, which I feel could have been left off.

FUNCTION: The stand on the AOC has insane lift which is great and is also very stable on the desk. It has a simple one user button, which works well very tactile and easy to use once you figure out which way to click to do certain things. The connections on the back of the monitor are easy to get too and the stand allows for easy wire management. The bezel on the AOC does make the monitor feel a little bigger. The cables that come with the HP omen are nice I liked the red DP cable but for some people they don't like colored cable so this is just a preference thing.

PANEL: I can not tell a difference between the panels, I used the same TFTcenteral settings and omen X35 ICC Profile and the panels looked the same to me. I had read that the curvature was difference but both show a 1800R curve and from my eye balls looks to be the same. Neither the OMEN or AOC had any panel issues (knock on wood....... thats what she said lol) No dead pixels, as I stated not sure I can say much more

I wish I would have took pictures of them side by side, wife has already packed the OMEN up and got it ready to go back. (it arrived with a bent stand or so I think there is 3/4" difference in one of sides it was leaning and the desk is level, I was going to over look due to eventually it going on a stand) I have decided to keep the AOC all in all considered I don't think the appearance difference justifies the base $450 difference in price and HP support has been extremely lacking.

A weird thing is this AOC flicker is almost none existent, I would only get flicker in COD IW menu while waiting on a match and when they were both hooked up the HP flicker was extremely noticeable while the AOC I couldn't notice any. I am going to keep track and make sure I don't before saying for sure, anyone whos played the crappy COD IW game will know the menu does change a little bit of color during certain menu changes. I hope this helps someone maybe on the verge.

Thank you for this post. For $450 less (1/3 the price) this seems like a far better value for the $ especially if it is the same panel. Just like you the back of my monitor will never be seen.

Your welcome, i could have gone into more things like UI but for me the UI is not a huge deal breaker I ask myself how much do I have to mess with it on a regular basis. If there is any certain questions I can try and answer them for anyone considering either of these. I have also owned the Acer XB271HU, Acer X34, Asus PG348Q, HP Omen X35 and now this AOC Agon, just for comparison sakes lol

Price wise this was my thought also, like I said previously had they been closer priced I would have just kept the HP but for $450+tax difference between the two of them it was too much to ignore for just cosmetic differences.

Hmm maybe HP will lower the price if the Omen's sales are reduced due to the Agon.
