Did any of you come from a Gsync 144hz notice any difference going down to 100hz? I play a WIDE range of games from FPS (BF1, Overwatch), Driving Games (Forza Horizon, Need for Speed, Project Cars), MMO (FFXIV), and others like Action Adventure, RPG, Open World, Sports games. So I think its best to have a standard 16:9 as a backup. Also play old school games, which I would think don't work well with UW.
.

I came from a 144hz Acer XB270HU and after playing all weekend(mostly BF4, BF1, DS3(frame locked), some Titanfall 2, and some Doom) the only game I felt like I perceived even a slight difference was in BF4. However the additional screen real estate more than makes up for it. I wont go back to 16:9 again.
Witcher 3 look amazing in ultrawide. NBA2K16 also looks fantastic in uw. I have not tried a racing game yet. I do agree that games without UW support can be very very annoying, I tried to get the Dark Souls 3 ultrawide patch to work for about 20 minutes on Saturday and ended up just playing it stretched out.

Thanks for the input. Ya, I was hoping the Increased real estate would offset the lower Hz of the monitor. Given I just got 2 new Titan Xp's in, I am pretty confident I will be able to drive most games at 100fps +

With all of the issues of G-Sync in the 35" monitors, what do you guys think of the LG 38UC99 38" IPS monitor...? I mean, if I'm spending $1300 why not add a couple hundred more and go for gold...?

because that's not a GSync monitor and has a max refresh rate of 75Hz.

I mean at that point if you no longer care about GSync or refresh rate just get the HP Z27N or something.

I want it to be curved; at that size it is irritating when it isn't. I also found that 28" monitor for much cheaper at Best Buy, but I'm not sure it is worth it.

Nice! I agree the ICC profile is excellent. Enjoy.

Some of the decision making is all over the place on this thread smile.gif

If you are interested in an LG manufactured IPS panel, go with the Asus or Acer 34 inch ultrawide with GSync. The panel they use is from LG, and it's IPS, and they both have a higher refresh rate and GSync.

If you hate IPS...Try the Omen X 35 or AOC version with the same panel, accepting that there are some kinks that have yet to be worked out.

If you want a big beautiful picture, spend a bit more than $1300 and just get a 55 inch or larger OLED from last year's models.

The LG you linked costs more because of features like the Bluetooth speaker and a slightly larger panel, but I would rather have GSync and a higher refresh rate than and extra 3-4 inches of panel. 34 inches already is a huge amount of space to work with on a desk.

That is actually helpful. I'm not sure I want a 55" monitor as I've already got a 55" LED tv right next to my computer desk - I want this to be a nice computer monitor. I already have the X 35, but I'm worried that these issues actually are hardware related and not software. I should have gotten the extended warranty from Amazon when I purchased it.
