Myself and others have clearly posted that the flickering is not on some other GSync displays, and that the viewing angles are a step back from other VA panels (TFTCentral even stated this).

I kinda get why this happens: you build up a product in your head and you want to believe the product in your head is the product that exists, but sometimes that's not the case.

If you are ok with flickering, a 1 year warranty, and don't care about color consistency across the full range of the panel (due to saturation loss) then Omen is a great looking ultrawide. I do care enough about those things that I'm willing to wait and save my $1300 until a bit later, whether that's until HP fixes some of these things, or a competing pricing comes out. And I really do hope that HP comes through with a fix for the flickering making everybody who got the Omen happy they stuck with it smile.gif

Spot on.

My omen has wonderful viewing angles. Amazing color accuracy. No banding. Reasonable/little ghosting.

The only issues I've seen are flicker in mass effect. Other games are not flickering for me. And this latest potential pixel inversion/crosstalk issue.

As someone who plays games in complete darkness; ips glow is a total immersion breaker during dark scenes. And I do notice the blacks not being black.

I am not a competitive pvp player so I do not know if the ghosting issues will be noticeable to me. A Microcenter a hour away has the Agon 35" UWs in stock; I will try to visit this weekend to see if they have it on display and I can determine the panel's quality.

whether its 4k 5k 8k ultrawide theres no such thing as a perfect monitor. there will always be flaws. so if that's the case good luck trying to find it. especially thru this place which is a gift and a curse. you can get help alleviating a problem or it can teach you something new to look for and boom theres your flaw. if your looking for ultrawide 3440x1440 TODAY this is the one to go with. theres nothing evenly remotely on its level looks wise. that's worth a an extra couple hundred. asus and acer not even native 100 and last years models. only option is Samsung cf or lg 38 which neither are gsync so in reality this monitor has no competition at the moment.

Wrong background color for ufo test wink.gif. The ghosting and overshoot would be otherwise massive wink.gif.

Just came in now, can't judge anything at te moment I will be on it this night, the first thing I immediately see is the picture quality not very far away from ips, very nice! This are pictures precalibration, now I'm calibrating
