OMEN X by HP 35 Curved Gaming Display with NVIDIA G-SYNC Thread - Page 54

****... tongue.gif them more experience you have, them more research you do and them more you concentrate on issues them faster you will see them. It's something that happens to me and sometimes Im thinking this was a big mistake to learn so much into displays over the last several years. Well at the end, every technology has it's disatvantages. Hopefully you will get an IPS ultrawide without glow within your next 100 orders haha biggrin.gif If you'r interested in giant screen just do like I did a full dark room + a beamer, but mine was not the best (benq w1070+) and I had to give up my room. In future, when I finally end up my study, I will build a new homecinema with an 4k beamer.... 2016 I was at the ISE trade fair where epson presented its 4k laser beamer, thats what I want hah smile.gif (with g-sync pls) tongue.gif

32 inch 4K 120 hz oled with 600+ nits and g-sync would satisfy me enough. Especially when volta high end gpu has been released.

I had a Full HD oled, and I don't liked it for movies. I don't had the experience with an HDR oled yet, hopefully this year I can get one. For games otherwise the oled was very good (Apart from the input lag and the 60 hz)

That must be an old panel. It's not comperable to new ones.

It was the LG 55EG9109.

That device is very old (2015). Did you play counter strike on the x35 omen ? I played cs source on the omen x35 and then on the x34a. The gaming experience on the the X34A was much, much better. The hit rate on the omen x35 was very bad.

Yes to test if I can see ghosting. You can notice the Overdrive lag a bit better here (brighter image content with darker objects). And compared to a 144 TN of course it smears much more. But in my mind the Omen is not a monitor for e-sports. More a singleplayer one, and this begins at the input lag, over to response time and especially the btg response time... I couldn't play online shooters on the omen. But especially 3rd person games, in my mind, awesome... (alan wake, mordors shadow, witcher, ....) But still, viewing angles suffer :/

EDIT: BUT I think most people won't be bothered that much as me within the response time. For most people still it's probably fine. Not everyone is like me, and probably you tongue.gif

I get this monitor for ~1070 Euros with 3 years warranty, but i felt that it isn't worth, this price. Compared with the x34a for 850 Euros its a joke. ~50 ms for btg sucks.

Like I mentioned, it's personal preference. For me it would be worth, if these viewing angles not suffer that much, which are for me pretty noticeable. I don't had the x34a here so I cant say. Hopefully I can order soon the asus or the acer, to gain more experience. If the IPS glow on the acer/asus models are as same as on the PG279Q(s) that I had (5), then for me VA > IPS, while IPS glow destroys everything for me. But there also exist people which says the IPS glow don't bothers them. And if you only play at daylight or in a bright room you also probably will not notice any IPS glow

Ips glow and blb bother me almost on darker contents. The X34A has massive glow and blb in the corners especially compared with va or tn panels. But the x35 omen has other much more serious problems which are affecting "basic functions".

The cons of the x34a or pg348q are:

-easy noticable scanlines above 95 hz, from closer distances

-loud coil whine above 95 hz, noticeable coil whine stars arround 80 - 85 hz, especially on "brighter" backgrounds (this forum is enough to start wink.gif)

-massive blb and glow in the corners and at the borders
