OMEN X by HP 35 Curved Gaming Display with NVIDIA G-SYNC Thread - Page 58

I got the Omen X since it dropped to $980 on Amazon. Not going to lie, I've never owned a monitor more than 60hz nor ever experienced Gsync before with my own two eyes. Let's see if all the hype lives up to its name...I was going to get a 27" 1440p 144hz gsync to transition myself to the future asus/acer 27" 4k 144hz FLAD HDR gsyncs but those monitors are 2 years old now and plagued with QC issues mostly backlight bleed it seems. Does this image still hold true?: Gsync ON, Vsync ON, FPS cap to 98 for the best settings? (Guess so Gsync is always active and then you don't get the latency/lag from vsync once you hit 100fps or more).

Correct if you keep FPS even 1 below monitor rate then G-Sync will be active

Receiving mine today; i plan on placing it on my vesa monitor arm.

Question; what is the safest way to attaching it to my monitor arm? this monitor is nearly 3 ft long and curved so I am not so sure placing it on my desk upside down (panel on the desk surface), and then screwing in the vesa arm would be the safest way to go.

It does come with wrapping material on the monitor, correct? Maybe I will keep most of that on, and only expose the backside to attach it to my monitor arm.

FYI - Price dropped again to $980:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N0TFAW6/ref=od_aui_detailpages02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

#Edit: haha I just realized you guys already saw the discounted price.
I think it is ridiculous that Amazon won't give me the price difference... This will be the 2nd time I'm re-ordering the monitor just to send the old one back to get the discount... I think it is stupid that they are deciding to pay for the shipping both ways vs just crediting me back the difference in price.

Right? I'm gonna try calling them because it is stupid. Tried over email and "Katie" sucks as customer support lol. I'm not going to waste my time sending it back though, not worth the $100.

Waste of your time to call... I spent almost an hour getting transferred around asking for supervisor over supervisor and they wouldn't do it...
For me it is worth it. I have Prime so I get the new box, pull out the monitor (already put together), pop the old one back in the box, and take it to a UPS dropoff...

It's *almost* like HP has no idea what they're doing with pricing? lol.

Btw, this unfortunately translates to them having no intention of fixing issues with G-Sync flickering, frame skipping, etc. The monitor is going to stay as is, and they are just going to compete on price with AOC and hope they get the sales instead.
