The quote button is not working for me. Is there a fix? I can click it as much as I want, but nobody's posts show up in the reply text box, and I am not going to hand-code every reply I make.

Which text editor are you using? Which browser? Do you have any plugins running on your browser?

I am using the overclock.net forum reply text box...the regular editor. The full page editor does not have any "Quote" button on people's posts at all, so it's not that one.

I am using Google Chrome, nothing unusual, nothing unexpected. I do have plugins, and they don't really pertain to text-box functionality or passing variables within the web page. Other websites work fine, but not this one.

TabTabSearch
Quick Tabs
LastPass
Flash Video Downloader
Xmarks Bookmarks Synchronizer
WOT Web of Trust
Wikibuy
uBlock Origin
Honey
Open Screenshot

I have noticed that the text box input is different for Microsoft Edge.

This is what I'm talking about. If you haven't changed that option in your settings, you will be on BBC.

As for the plugins, it's not to do with the text box, it's plugins that may get in the way with scripting the quote functions on the site.

When you click quote on a post, what does it do? What appears in the quote box?

EDIT: The follow is what appears in the text box when I quote your last post: The raw code (Click to show)

In MS Edge I am able to quote you. In both MS Edge and Chrome I am using the BB Code Editor. BB Code Editor is "the regular editor". Nobody uses RichText any more. That's a relic of the 2000s and a fall-back editor for when BB Code isn't supported by a browser. I know that BB Code Editor is supported by Chrome.

In Chrome, when I click "Quote" nothing shows up in the text box. There is a dialog box that says "Please Wait" that shows up for half a second, then it disappears. The page does not move, and no text is showing when I scroll back down to the text box.

Also I was wrong about the text input method looking different in MS Edge. It is the same. I was thinking of another forum I'm writing on.

Can you disable all of your plugins and see if it works, I'm guessing one of them is blocking huddler.com which we use to host some of the APIs that are used here.

I have tested this and it would seem it is something your end with one of your exensions or if you are using something that is filtering scripts.

Using a vanilla Chrome, OCN responds normally. As stated by others, if anything is blocking or limiting huddler.com then this can also have an effect on the functionality on the site.

I have an Adblocker that is the culprit. I can force the website to work properly if I Ctrl-Click to force the URL to load in a new window.

I white-listed huddler.com and it did not fix the problem. If there is a comprehensive list of necessary domains, that would be cool.

I understand advertising makes things 'free', but it poses a problem for some people, who have sensitivity to flickering lights or graphical elements. I'm not one of those people, but for future guests, maybe there should be a sticky thread outlining how to maintain site functionality while preventing the more intrusive advertising.

For now, though, Ctrl-Clicking works for me.
